Nestled just a few minutes walk from the centre of the village, Riverside Cottage has been furnished and equipped to a good standard to ensure as comfortable and relaxing holiday as possible. The cottage makes a central base for exploring this lovely part of the Northern Highlands, coupled with easy access to the east and west coasts. The bustling village of Drumnadrochit, set on the shores of Loch Ness and at the head of Urquhart Bay, has a number of good restaurants, pubs and is also the home to the Loch Ness Centre and the ruins of the Urquhart Castle. There are many attractions of scenic and historical interest within easy reach including Culloden Battlefield, Fort George, Cawdor and Brodie Castles, or take a trip along the Malt Whisky Trail – the only one of its kind in the world! Visit some of the beautiful, scenic fishing villages of the Moray coastline – voted one of the world’s top 20 coastal destinations! Inverness, which is the capital of the highlands, is only 14 miles away, where you will find a large variety of shops, fine restaurants, pubs, theatre, museums and galleries. Amongst the many activities available are boat trips and watersports on Loch Ness (it’s a good monster spotting area) and the Moray coast, mountain biking and walking in the many forest trails. It is also a great place for photography with a huge abundance of birds and wildlife on the doorstep. For the less energetic, sit back, relax and unwind in front of the multi-fuel burner and make happy memories of your holiday in this beautiful part of the Northern Highlands. Fantastic cottage, very clean and very cosy. Perfect location to visit loch ness, we also travelled to balmoral and it was fantastic in the snow. Highly recommended. Book your stay in this lovely little cottage, you won't want to leave!The superb welcome pack/s were like nothing we have experienced before; milk in the fridge, biscuits, sweets, coffee pod machine & pods, small keepsakes including a pen, fridge magnet, keyrings etc, travel size toiletries and even a doggy welcome pack including treats, poo bags, dog bowls, lead and toys.The bed was divine, so comfortable.Location was brilliant and just a couple of minutes walk to Loch Ness Inn where the food and drinks in the pub section (dogs are allowed) were delicious.The riverside side walk was brilliant, Cafe Eighty 2 made us a Scottish breakfast which set us up for the day!Travelling around the Highlands every day and coming home to this cottage brought a smile to our faces, so much so we're now planning our next visit 😀

Absolutely brilliant place to spend some time in the highlands. The cottage was well equipped with everything you need , a welcome box, even for the dogs. Walking distance to the local pub and a nice walk into the town. It’s an ideal place to relax and use as a base for exploring the highlands.
