Guests that stayed at this property said

The property is frequently described as clean and well-maintained, with guests expressing satisfaction with the level of cleanliness. No negative comments regarding cleanliness were noted, indicating a high standard is consistently met.

The location is highly praised for its stunning views and proximity to Inverness, with easy access to local shops and attractions. The serene setting and opportunities to see the northern lights add to the appeal, although one mention of slippery outdoor slabs suggests minor concerns.

Guests find the property extremely comfortable, with special mentions of the luxurious beds and spacious rooms. The house's design facilitates both privacy and social gatherings, enhancing the comfort level for guests.

The range of facilities, including a hot tub, tennis court, and games, is frequently commended. However, some guests noted the need for maintenance and updates, such as a broken parasol base and a removed music system, which slightly detracts from the overall experience.

The thoughtfulness of the host is evident in the personalised catering and assistance provided. While gifts are mentioned, such as catering for special occasions, it should be noted that these are not guaranteed and are subject to arrangement with the host.

About this property

Munlochy 1.3 miles. Rising from the picturesque countryside of Munlochy, near Inverness, Scotland, this magnificent holiday home is truly a fantastic base for responsible hen and stag groups, families and, due to the array of close courses, golfing holidays. With a conservatory catching the light, a long drive and a backdrop of trees, you will instantly feel the luxury of this stay. Entering through the glass doors of the conservatory, notice how spacious and airy this property is. Finding yourself in a games room, you will be welcomed to test your skills at pool or recline on the L-shaped sofa and catch up on your favourite TV shows, before heading through to the sitting room with ample seating, an abundance of windows, a beautiful stone fireplace as well as all of the furniture decorated with tartan, continuing the theme of a Scottish holiday, a traditional feel that is added to by tall ceilings and wooden roof beams. Leading on from the kitchen is a large dining area with a central table, the perfect place to have a social meal, and it is worth noting that there is a cook available to hire for this property if you don’t wish to be self-catered, plus the added wonder of a large Christmas tree and decorations here around the festive season. The kitchen is a chef’s dream, with so much space and all of the home comforts you will need to create the perfect breakfast and whilst you wait for dinner, why not utilise the handy utility room? There is also a downstairs WC and basin available for guests. When it comes to the bedrooms, there are nine to choose from, all king-size with zip-links that can be set up as twin rooms on request, with an en-suite bathroom, shower room or a private bathroom, so there will be no queues for morning showers or a relaxing soak in the bath, and each room offers a wonderful view to the countryside surrounding the property, and the décor is delightful, sporting Anta fabric, again in keeping with the Highland theme. This property goes above and beyond when it comes to facilities, offering a large garden with vast parking, an amazing hot tub to relax you after a long day of golf, a lawn space to picnic whilst enjoying the rolling hills of the surroundings, a large tennis court, a half-moon patio of alfresco dining and socialising and a climbing frame for children.

Despite this property having so many activities available, there is much more to see within the local area, for example you could take a leisurely stroll up to the Munlochy Bay Viewpoint, where you will have expansive views out to the bay and the Moray Firth where there is a possibility of seeing dolphins. With such a close proximity to Inverness, this house offers local cafes, crafts and produce, access to hikes and walks, as well as a greater variety of restaurants, pubs, shops and activities in Inverness, including a trampoline park and Inverness Botanical Gardens. The main attraction of this area, however, is golf, with the local area boasting some of the best courses in the country including Royal Dornoch, Nairn Golf Club, regularly hosting the Walker Cup, and Brora. There are also local courses such as Fortrose and Rosemarkie. With so many activities to keep you busy, Quarryfield is the perfect base for a magnificent Highland adventure.

The Capital of the Highlands, the city of Inverness, is the gateway to the countless delights of the Highlands of Scotland. Towering mountains, dark lochs, great forests and precipitous sea cliffs are all within easy reach. Of particular note is the legendary Loch Ness, which is surrounded by some truly breathtaking scenery, although most visitors are usually on the lookout for something a bit more mysterious! Just outside the city is the Culloden Battlefield at Culloden Moor (National Trust). The site of the last major battle fought on British soil, there is an award-winning display depicting the battle, whilst a walk on the field serves as a poignant reminder of the clansmen who lost their lives. Inverness itself has much to offer, museums, an art gallery, fine theatre and leisure facilities, not to mention shops, pubs and restaurants. The River Ness flows through the city and both the river and neighbouring Moray Firth are home to a diverse range of wildlife and marine life including red kites, along with dolphins, which can sometimes be seen from the shore, or on trips from the harbour.

From the bedrooms on the ground floor for the grandparents to the large open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room area to the snooker and table tennis tables. There was so much space and entertainment for all, we even played tennis outside in the middle of January! The views are beautiful from the house and it is so easy to find. A special mention to Jane, who helped us organise the weekend and made sure everything went so smoothly.

Great walks round about and the snooker room/table tennis court were an added hit! Very spacious living/kitchen/dining area with a roaring fire. It was perfect! Couple of points were that the amenities list could be updated perhaps. We took a lot of extras that we didn’t expect to be there (dishwasher tablets/slow cooker/tin foil/cling film/kitchen roll). Also had to google instructions for the hot tub after it took so long to heat up as it is a wood burner hot tub. Steps for heating this up are required. It wasn’t ideal having to empty, clean it & then fill up after a couple of days of use. Given there is no filter/chlorine added to it (it is basically a big bath), it stank & the water needed changed.

Our only comment is that the stone paving slabs near to the tennis court are extremely slippy when wet and quite dangerous we felt. Just need a power wash to clear them. Other than that everything was perfect.
