Situated on the shores of the Morar Estuary, this charming property provides its guests with modern and comfortable accommodation in a fantastic and scenic location. Sat in the perfect location, Westhaven is within walking distance of a lovely sandy beach and the gateway to the Isle of Skye, Small Isles and Knoydart. Offering plenty of space, this cottage is ideal for a family or group of friends wanting to escape to the Scottish Highlands and explore its dramatic coast and countryside. The living accommodation of the property consists of a large, fully appointed kitchen with dining area, a handy utility room and WC, as well as a cosy sitting room with comfortable sofas and a warming multi-fuel stove.
The sitting room also has the added bonus of large glass patio doors that not only illuminate the room nicely, but offer spectacular views over the nearby estuary. The doors lead out onto a furnished patio, a lovely spot for sitting out on a warm evening and admiring the views. There are four pleasing bedrooms in the property, all furnished to a high standard and offering more beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. They consist of two king-size bedrooms, a twin bedroom and a bunk bedroom. There is also a large family bathroom with bath and spacious walk-in shower. Outside, the property is surrounded by a large, enclosed garden that reaches down to the edge of the estuary, with both lawn and decking areas, as well as a small pond.
The village of Morar is just a short walk away and has two eateries; the Morar Hotel, and a Thai takeaway, both of which serve a selection of delicious dishes. The village boasts the spectacular beachscape known as the 'silver sands of Morar', a collection of white sandy beaches with azure waters. Nearby is the town of Mallaig, a popular fishing village with a number of shops and places to eat, or further afield is the Scottish Highland town of Fort William, the gateway to the Glen Nevis Valley. Westhaven is the ideal property for a family or group of friends looking to discover the wonderful Scottish Highlands.
The famous 'Road to the Isles' comes to an end in Mallaig, a bustling and thriving fishing village, popular with visitors who wish to soak up the atmosphere of a working fishing port, whilst enjoying the full range of shops and restaurants that it has to offer. Mallaig is a great gateway to the Isle of Skye with a ferry running across the Minch throughout the year. Mallaig is also the final stop for the famous Jacobite steam train, as featured in the Harry Potter movies, which follows the road to the Isles from Fort William to Mallaig and back again, a picturesque journey passing through some of the best scenery in Scotland.

You could just watch that view all week. Really comfortable house - bigger Iâd say than the pictures look. The house had everything we needed. We enjoyed feeding the garden sparrows all week. Lots of secluded beaches all around this area. Boat trip from Arisaig was a highlight as we saw a whale and loads of dolphins. Friendly, helpful owners. All in all - fantastic.

It had everything we needed. The owners are very attentive and kind. Thank you!

The waterside location and views were superb and it was very easy to enjoy day trips to Skye and Knoydart via ferries from Mallaig, not to mention the wonderful beaches all the way from the house to Arisaig. NOT FOR PUBLICATION: I think the only thing missing was a hairdryer (maybe I didnât find it) and for us it would have been better if the heating had come on earlier as we tend to be up before 0730, which meant the bathroom etc was a bit chilly and towels not dry from night before.
