Lapwing Rise is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its fabulous location, stunning views, and spacious, comfortable accommodation. Guests enjoy the hot tub and the property's peaceful setting, with special mentions of the friendly and helpful owners. While there are some minor housekeeping issues, the overall experience is positive, with many looking forward to returning.
The property generally meets expectations for cleanliness, but there are comments about areas needing more attention, such as kitchen units, walls, and shower tiles. The presence of mold and a lingering smell in one review suggests room for improvement.
The location is highly praised for its spectacular views, with the presence of horses, steam trains, a canal, and mountains adding to the charm. The convenience of the location is also appreciated, despite the unique railway crossing.
Guests find the accommodation spacious and comfortable, with plenty of space for larger groups and a relaxing outdoor area. The hot tub is a highlight for comfort and relaxation.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the hot tub. However, there are mentions of maintenance issues such as a broken fridge door, toilet roll holder, and patio door, which suggest that some facilities require attention.
There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess this category.

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Lapwing Rise. The bungalow is spacious, comfortable and clean and the views are spectacular. We were a party of 4 adults, 3 children and 2 dogs, there was plenty of space within the bungalow for us all to enjoy some peace! . The hot tub is wonderful and was regularly maintained during our week long stay. The location is perfect too - lovely to see the steam train pass at one side of the bungalow and boats sail down the canal at the other side. The owners are very friendly and helpful - we had a broken down camper van on arrival. Gregor lent us some tools which meant we could get back on the road again.I highly recommend Lapwing Rise.
