This stylish semi-detached cottage is located in North Ballachulish on the northern shore of Loch Leven, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and intriguing history. Holly Cottage is presented to a very high standard and the smart contemporary interior will be appreciated by guests. This cottage would be ideal for a family group or group of friends who want to explore the heart of Scotland together! There are three comfortable bedrooms, one benefiting from en-suite facilities and the open plan living space with its woodburning stove is cosy and welcoming. The French doors from the living area open out onto a front patio which is an ideal spot from which to appreciate both the stunning loch and mountain views and perhaps enjoy a pre-dinner glass of wine. The nearby hotel is a short walk away should you simply want a relaxing meal out and the chance to meet some locals. From this cottage visitors can access some of the most popular areas that Scotland has to offer. Just a short drive away is atmospheric Glencoe where the famous massacre of 1692 saw the Clan MacDonald of Glencoe annihilated! Alternatively, take a drive westwards along the famous road to the Isles and visit Glenfinnan where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his standard to rally the clans and where you'll find the Glenfinnan viaduct, memorably captured in the Harry Potter films. It all happened in this very area! Less than an hour away is the coastal town of Oban and from here visitors can visit some of the pretty islands of the west coast such as Mull, Tiree and Uist. For shopping trips, nearby Fort William has everything and more along with Ben Nevis! A simply welcoming cottage in a fabulous vibrant location to suit everyone.Note: The charging of electric cars is not permissible at the property
Ballachulish and the surrounding area provides some of the most dramatic and beautiful scenery in Scotland. The village itself is situated on the banks of unspoilt Loch Leven and is just a mile from Glencoe. Ballachulish attracts many visitors throughout the year and is a perfect base for those wishing to enjoy outdoor pursuits. The village has excellent local services including a village shop, coffee shop, post office, pubs and hotels and it also has its own Tourist Information Centre and gift shop. The village of Ballachulish once had a major slate quarrying operation which continued for over 250 years until 1955 when the quarry was closed and today the old quarries are now being reclaimed by nature and the area is famous once again but this time as an idyllic holiday location. With nearby Kinlochleven providing the Ice Factor (an indoor ice and rock climbing centre), Fort William 15 miles to the north providing its famous Nevis Range and Glencoe 1 mile south, what an absolutely fabulous holiday location this is.

Loch Leven Hotel literally next door with a public bar and food. Holly Cottage proved to be quiet and yet next to the main road (100 metres) Having stayed in over 30 other types of accommodation as a regular visitor, this faired very well and I will return.

Some really great design features make the property perfect in use - for example the rear vestibule seats are made from skis is just brilliant. The location is perfect for Glencoe walking and Fort William for visiting. There are plenty of walks in Ballachulish without the need to take the car, in fact the area is very cycling friendly too with most roads having a cycle track alongside. My only moan is the internet speed which is pretty slow but I donât realistically expect fibre broadband in this location, it is useable, just slower than we are used to. Would I go back to this cottage? Absolutely
Peter
If you love hillwalking, this cottage is ideal. The living area is generously sized, comfortable and affords great views to a couple of Munros just across the Ballachulish bridge. The cottage is well-equipped and the utility room is a real bonus for drying out wet coats. A most enjoyable week. Thank you.
