There are various boat trips available from Ullapool and a nice day trip can be taken to the Island of Handa which is a superb have for sea birds including puffins. The west coast of Scotland is renowned for its mild climate and exotic plants which grow so the gardens at Inverewe are well worth a visit. There are scenic drives round the peninsula and along the rugged to coast to charming villages such as Achiltibuie.

The Assynt Peninsula offers something for everyone be it dramatic scenery, fantastic beaches, coastal walks, strenuous mountain climbs and great fishing on the lochs and rivers. A visit to the area will leave you wanting to return again as it is a truly captivating area.
