Highland Ranch Lodge is praised for its beautiful park, friendly staff, and on-site restaurant. The presence of animals and a children's play area adds to the charm, and the location is appreciated for its peace and natural surroundings. The lodge offers ample parking and good Wi-Fi, making it a family-friendly choice.
Several reviews mention poor cleanliness, with issues such as mold, dirty utensils, and unclean windows. The presence of insects and dampness was also a concern, particularly for guests with health issues.
The lodge is commended for its peaceful and private setting, with easy access and quiet roads. The natural beauty and wildlife are highlights, contributing to a relaxing atmosphere.
Comfort receives mixed reviews. While some guests found the lodge cosy and relaxing, others were disappointed with outdated furnishings and creaking floorboards, which affected their overall comfort.
Facilities like the on-site restaurant and bar, children's play area, and parking are well-received. However, there are numerous calls for modernisation and maintenance of the lodges, indicating a need for investment.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Beautiful stay here for 4 nights. The lodge had a really cosy feel. Restaurant and bar on site, and a lovely park that the kids loved.

Overall I have given Delny Highland Lodges 3 stars. The staff were very kind and helpful. The park itself was beautiful, the resident animals a lovely touch. However the accommodation was incredibly disappointing. Its one thing for it to be outdated, this isn't a problem. But the cleanliness of the accommodation was very, very poor. Some of the kitchen utensils were dirty. The windows were filthy, rotten wooden frames and broken seals meant mold and insects were present. The curtains were broken, the blind on one of the bedroom windows was moldy. The bathroom ceiling was covered in black mold spots and squashed flies that hadn't been cleaned. Also, after every shower, the cubicle filled with slugs. The most disgusting point was when I spotted someone's discarded Verruca sock in the tray of the shower. The bathroom was poorly ventilated and the entire accommodation became very damp at night. At night the main bedroom had alot of spider visitors. The window is broken and doesnt close properly so I expect they got in that way. It is a huge shame to say all this but it's important to mention because the park and the onside restaurant is fantastic, and the presence of a launderette is very helpful. But the accommodation is a very important part of the stay and was a massive let down. The presence of so much damp and mold worried me because it is not safe and my son is asthmatic and he was coughing alot by the end of the week. Overall, a beautiful park, lovely owners, but some serious investment needed to the maintenance of the accommodation to make it suitable. We travelled a long way for such disappointment.
