Guests say

19 South Street is a quaint and charming cottage in Grantown on Spey, appreciated for its warmth, character, and secure garden. Its proximity to local amenities and attractions in the Scottish Highlands makes it a favourable base for exploring the area. Guests have enjoyed the homely feel, the well-equipped space, and the pet-friendly environment.

Several guests have raised concerns about the cleanliness, mentioning issues such as greasy kitchenware and mold in the bathrooms. However, not all reviews reflect these issues, indicating some inconsistency in the cleaning standards.

The cottage's location is highly praised for its convenience to shops, cafes, and pubs, as well as being a great starting point for sightseeing and enjoying local walks and the Speyside Whisky Trail.

Guests find the cottage comfy and cosy, with efficient heating and comfortable beds. Some mention the charm of the old building, though the steep stairs have been noted as a hiccup for some.

The property is well-equipped with modern bathrooms and appliances like a washing machine and tumble dryer. However, some guests feel that the kitchen and certain facilities could be updated, and a deeper clean between guests is suggested.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the owner towards the guests, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

The cottage was very comfy, cosy, and warm. We immediately felt at home. It is centrally located for shops and pubs etc.The oven is old and the temperature not that controllable, but we managed to cook a Christmas dinner in it, so it did the job. The general feel of the cottage isn't luxury, it is homely, and we loved that. The locality is so beautiful and we drove to some beautiful places, lochs, and mountains, plus a trip to the cairngorm reindeer herd and a trip up the Cairngorm funicular, then a walk to the top of the mountain, where the views were outstanding. Thanks for a great stay!

Our third stay here and we have already booked a fourth in March 2026, so it must be good! Some facilities in cottage are a bit dated, but that can be charming, maybe even nostalgic. Radiators combined with very efficient log burners supplied with loads of kindling and logs makes cold nights very cosy. And of course Speyside is a great place to stay for both the fit and active and for those with a more leisurely lifestyle.

Lovely cottage. The cleaner could be a little better. But overall a lovely holiday
