About this property

Corpach 12.9 miles. Boasting a fantastic location on the banks of Loch Shiel in the charming hamlet of Glenfinnan near Corpach, the Scottish Highlands is 1 Slatach. This welcoming, dog-friendly holiday home benefits from 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom, a covered deck area, breath-taking views across the loch, and, of course, loch access. It is the perfect choice for couples, friends, or small families looking to explore the wonders of the Scottish Highlands. Cross the threshold into your new home-from-home, where you can unwind on the plush sofas and enjoy the gentle warmth of the woodburning stove before stepping into the fully equipped kitchen to prepare a delicious meal. Dine together at the table or head outside to utilise the barbecue while Loch Shiel provides a truly breath-taking backdrop. Admire the sun setting over the Loch before stepping back inside and heading up the stairs to wash off the day’s adventures in the shower room, ready to catch up on your sleep in either double bedroom. Embark on your Scottish Highland adventure by starting in Glenfinnan, where you can discover the Glenfinnan Monument, the Glenfinnan Visitor Centre, and the Glenfinnan Station Museum. Harry Potter fans can also seize the opportunity to watch the train crossing the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct or even board the train themselves! Take advantage of 1 Slatach’s position on the loch and join a boat tour to admire the picturesque landscape from the water; the adventurous among you can even try your hand at kayaking, paddle boarding, canoeing, or a spot of wild swimming! Keen ramblers will also be in their element thanks to the abundance of walking and hiking trails, including Sgurr Thuilm Peak, Carn Mor, and Gulvain. Start your Scottish adventure at 1 Slatach!

Corpach marks the end of the longest set of locks in the UK, Neptune's Staircase, which are part of the massive Caledonian Canal before they empty into the sea. Canoeing, kayaking, sailing, mountaineering, and winter climbing are just few of the activities available at the Snowgoose Mountain Centre. Treasures of the Earth is Europe's best private collection of crystals, jewels, and fossils, and it is the perfect place to go if you want to take it easy. Fort William, a major Highland settlement, is close by; it is a popular destination for shopping, seafood lovers, and hikers because of its location at the base of Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the United Kingdom. Whether you hike up Aonach Beag, Ben Nevis's neighbour, or ride the gondola to the top of Aonach Mor, you'll be treated to breath-taking panoramas and a delicious lunch. While the resort is known for its winter activities, Nevis Range also offers world-class mountain riding in the summer. The world-famous 6-day Trials Bike event is held in Fort William every year in early May. Ideal for exploring this stunning region of Scotland.

! The locals are so friendly and accommodating, we had a day of heavy rain all day and the locals checked we were ok and offered a route through their own garden to get past the flooded loch! The property is cozy and has all the basic things required. 10/10 we will be back!

The beds are so comfy and the shower is amazing. The location is just stunning, by far the best view I've ever had from a property, right on the edge of the loch, it's just beautiful and peaceful. The owner, James, is lovely and I would definitely recommend his coffee
