About this property

Gairloch 8.8 miles. Rising into the salty air of the bay, this beautiful wooden lodge brings with it a fresh contemporary twist, amazing views and access to a local beach.

Perfect for families with a taste for the more remote side of holidaying, Rionnag Lodge, situated in Aultgrishan, near Gairloch, is devoted to making the most of the dramatic scenery.

Arriving upon this beautiful property, you will notice that it combines a traditional holiday lodge with all of the opulence of a home, starting with the beautiful open-plan living area, sporting huge full-length windows to absorb natural light, creating an airy space within, you can recline on a stylish sofa, where relaxation is taken care of by a woodburning stove warming your feet, a TV and selection of books.

Enjoy cooking in the fully-furnished stylish kitchen, or have a hearty breakfast at the dining table before heading out to explore, and there is also a handy utility ready for your sandy clothing after spending a day at the beach.

If you wish to settle down for the night, there is a king-size bed on the ground-floor with pink walls, LED lighting and ample storage, as well as a beautifully furnished bathroom with a wooden basin and tub, hand-made and unique, where you can enjoy the warmth and bubbles after a long day.

Upstairs, a delightful twin room awaits, with skylights in the slanted ceiling to make the most of the natural light, as well as a wonderful world map wallpaper.

The final bedroom is probably the most impressive, with skylights in the floor and ceiling and a beautiful window at the end of the room immersing you in scenic views, and for starry evenings where you may get the chance to see the Northern Lights, then there is a telescope waiting for you to explore the night sky.

On the first-floor, there is a shower room with marble look tiles for a clean finish.

Outside, the enclosed garden offers you a place to admire both the lodge and the scenery, showing off the full-length windows and the mezzanine level that shelters a delightful hot tub, allowing you to relax in style even in the rain.

If you can tear yourself away from the beauty of the architecture and its surroundings, then you will find many wonderful shops within the town of Gairloch, including local craft and produce shops, coffee shops, a pub and a convenience store.

Boat trips are available for you to explore the rugged headland and see seals and otters in the bays. Opportunities for hiking are readily available with access to mountain walking and cycling trails, whilst if you wish for a slower paced activity, there is a fantastic golf course not far from the property. For those keen on heritage and history, head over to Gairloch Museum or explore Sand Archaeological Trail. The most stunning views and experiences await you with a stay at Rionnag Lodge. The house had everything we needed and the lovely hamper and Prosecco was very much appreciated. The house was spotlessly clean, lovely furnishings and has magnificent views. We met Terry a few times and he was lovely, very friendly and welcoming. The fish was delicious as well - thank you! The surrounding area is lovely, pebble and sandy beaches around, lovely lighthouse, great little shops in the village a short drive away and everyone we met was very friendly! The Farmshop, Info centre and cafe and the museum were all great. We’d love to go back after Easter another year to take advantage of the kayaking, horse riding and boat trips on offer but we got an amazing week this year with exceptional weather and a very laid back atmosphere in the village. Thanks very much for our holiday, we’d absolutely recommend!

Exceptional standard of accommodation accompanied by amazing quality and comfort throughout. Everything we needed was right there with a to die for view that was extremely hard to leave! The owner Terry was an absolute gem at making sure we were made very welcome and supplied us with the most amazing seafood ever! A truly wonderful experience in a fantastic location and one we would most definitely repeat! Rionnag means star in Gaelic, therefore we easily give our stay 5 Rionnags! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
