About this property

A quaint, rural property boasting beautiful views from above the Moray Firth, The Milk House rests on the outskirts of the seaside town of Fortrose, ideal for a couple looking to explore the coast and countryside of Ross and Cromarty. Settled into the countryside of Scotland, overlooking the beautiful Moray Firth and Black Isles, make your way to this delightful abode and park off-road in the designated spot. Enter into a light and airy kitchen housing a whole host of amenities and cook up a storm, which can be served at the dining area. Settle down into a homely sitting room, with the glow of a coal effect electric fire, and enjoy a movie marathon, and here you will find a sofa bed with extra sleeping for two. Freshen up in the shower room before cosying up in the twin bedroom, a space where there is plenty of storage for all of your belongings. Outside, enjoy breakfast in the sunshine with countryside views from the patio space. The property itself rests on the rural outskirts of the wonderful town of Fortrose, a lovely location from which to explore this area of Scotland. Fortrose offers a local convenience store, as well as a selection of pubs and eateries, including The Union Tavern and Bakhoos Bakery. Walks can be enjoyed alongside the Moray Firth, and there is also the option of watersports at the Chanonry Sailing Club and a game of golf at the close by Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club. At Rosemarkie, visit the local museum, RSPB Fairy Glen and enjoy riverside walks towards the Fairy Glen Fallsor, take a stroll on the local beach. More local walks include Learnie Red Rock Trails, or guests can head over to Cromarty where there is a selection of dining options and a local beach. A visit to Inverness is a must, sporting more amenities for guests to enjoy, as well as Inverness Museum and Art Gallery, beautiful scenery at Merkinch Local Nature Reserve, Dolphin Spirit Inverness, Inverness Botanic Gardens, and the impressive Inverness Cathedral. All of this and so much more with a stay at The Milk House.

Fortrose is a small town on the south coast of the Black Isle, between Avoch and Rosemarkie, with many Victorian buildings and the remains of a cathedral dating from 1250AD. Fortrose has a small selection of shops, a few tearooms and restaurants, and a pretty harbour reached by narrow twisting roads. Fortrose is a great touring base, only 16 miles from the city of Inverness, and also within wonderfully easy reach of the dolphin-friendly Moray Firth, sandy beaches, great golf courses and the spectacular scenery of the Highlands.
