Very spacious with everything you could need. The caretaker met us on arrival, showed us round and gave some recommendations on places to visit. There is simply so much to see and do. The pool table is a plus and feeding the chickens and ducks (they are very friendly) is fun. If you are looking to spend your time watching Netflix, etc this is not the place for you as the WiFi is not fast enough. But this accommodation is a good base for exploring, with a day trip to Orkney being possible. Thurso is about 25 min drive which has Tesco and Lidl, but the local shop in Melvich about 5 miles has everything plus a petrol station. I recommend staying here and we will be staying again to continue where we left off.

Lolly and her family were so welcoming, treating us like friends of the family. They were founts of knowledge about what to do and where to go in the local area. My girls also loved hunting for eggs with Lolly, who was so patient with them showing them how to hold and feed the chickens. The cottage itself was beautiful and very comfortable. Things like dishwasher tablets and laundry supplies are provided which is so useful, and there is tea, coffee, sugar and milk provided on arrival so you can have a cuppa after your journey. Sunsets from the Garden are beautiful, the location is so tranquil. We hope to visit again.
