The property generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, with guests finding it tidy upon arrival. However, a few comments suggest room for improvement, particularly in the kitchen area.

The location is highly praised for its stunning scenery, tranquillity, and proximity to nature, making it an excellent choice for a peaceful retreat. The remote setting is appreciated by guests looking for an escape.

The cottage is often described as comfortable and roomy, particularly for smaller groups. However, some guests mention that the beds could be more accommodating for taller individuals, and the heating system may be inadequate during colder periods.

About this property

Nedd 0.2 miles.

A single-storey detached cottage with spectacular views nestled on a remote hillside above the tiny hamlet of Nedd, along the western shore of Loch Nedd, 2 miles south east of Drumbeg. Offering comfortable well-equipped accommodation, this property is ideal for families wishing to really get away from it all and explore the area. There is an orchard garden, a haven for children, and a large lean-to play area means that even if it rains, they're well catered for. The numerous spectacular beaches along this coast make it a perfect seaside holiday base, as well as something of a birdwatcher's paradise, with the famous puffin colony and bird sanctuary on Handa Island close by. With salmon and trout fishing available by arrangement, this property has something to please the whole family.

The small crofting township of Nedd (An Nead - Gaelic for nest) is situated on the north coast of the parish of Assynt. Ancient native woods surround Nedd, which overlooks Loch Nedd, a sea loch that's home to a wide variety of sea birds, seals and otters which appear occasionally. The famous colony of puffins at Handa Island is nearby. Nedd is an excellent base for hill walkers and climbers who are keen to explore Quinag, Suilven, Canisp, Benn Stack, Arkle, Ben More Assynt, and Foinaven. Trout and salmon fishing and stalking is available by arrangement on the many hill lochs for fishing enthusiasts. The Stoer Lighthouse, the renowned garden of Kerrachar, the caves of Assynt and the incredible geological feature of 'Moine Thrust', are all within easy reach of the holiday destination of Nedd.

Lovely house good facilities. Perfect location for all our needs. Our only concern is that we were there during a cold spell and the main living area needed more effective heating. There is a woodburner in the second sitting room which generates good heat in that area but was very smokey. We have been there before and would certainly go again but wanted to highlight our concerns re the heating during the cold snap which is not unusual in that part of Scotland.

It is a charming house in a stunning position but it is getting rather tired and could do with certain improvements. Our major concern was the cooker, which is in very poor condition. There is no grill pan and only one oven shelf. However, we were blessed with excellent weather and enjoyed the stay.

Perfect spot for us nature lovers. The cottage has plenty space and we liked the different possibilities for a sit. The furniture is dated and you feel that in use. The wood stove is cosy but a disaster with the smoke when opening the door. But we enjoyed the stay.
