This traditional cottage is well-suited to families, couples and groups of friends looking to rest and explore all the wonders this area has to offer, in a town that is full of history and culture. Make the most of the big outdoors, with its golden beaches, golf courses and historical sights, tied together with stunning landscape scenery, and return to this cosy base nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac, down a single-track lane. Spend your down time in the sociable open-plan living room and sink into the sofas before the open fire, or gather around the dining table for a hearty meal cooked up from the fully appointed kitchen. When you are fully relaxed and the evening draws to a close, head up the stairs to find two family bedrooms, each with a double and single bed along with ample storage space and sloping ceilings adding character. Use the large, lawned garden to the front of the cottage for sunny picnics while the kids play on the grass, and unwind with a chilled drink as you discuss your plans for the day ahead. Dornoch has many local eateries, pubs and shops, as well as the Royal Durnoch golf course, which was voted the fifth best outside of the United States. Spend a day at the Blue Flag beach with your loved ones, with its sheltering dunes and glistening shores, which are perfect for paddling and swimming. Alternatively, take a trip up to Dunrobin Castle, for a lovely day out uncovering its hidden treasures and strolling its enchanting gardens. There is also wildlife watching and cycling in the area and further afield you have the vibrant city of Inverness, with its Old Town, impressive cathedral and so much more to see and do. This is the ideal getaway for a well-earned break to Scotland. EPC Rating: Band E

Situated in a quiet location but only a few minutes walk to all the amenities of Dornoch . Thoughtful touches by owner, from tissues in bedrooms to fresh flower posy , tea tray set and the best welcome pack to greet our arrival . An excellent stay in this beautiful area.

The location is perfect. The building is lovely as is the garden. So peaceful. The decor is very tasteful with some quality antique furniture. The only two things we would say negatively: the fridge is too small to accommodate a week's worth of shopping. The nearest supermarket is ten miles away so we wanted to stock up. Not possible. Perhaps an extra fridge could be accommodated in the hall cupboard where the washing machine is? The second issue is more challenging to fix! The sloping ceilings in the bedrooms. You have to be constantly on alert not to bang your head as you get in and out of bed or inch gingerly towards the bedside tables. Perhaps painting these parts of the ceiling bright colours? I think people with physical limitations might struggle here. Other than that, a wonderful place for a quiet, relaxing holiday near the centre of beautiful Dornoch. Thanks.
