The children will love the bunk beds and the small and cosy second-floor bedrooms whilst the remaining bedrooms should cater for any combination of guests. When you wake up after a refreshing night’s sleep there is nowhere better to be. Throw open the doors and let the children explore the extensive gardens while you enjoy some time alfresco with your favourite tipple while taking in the sublime loch views. You can fish on Loch Duich and there is even a private slipway where you can launch your own boat! The region is a haven for walkers, climbers, mountain bikers and birdwatchers. If you want to indulge in some history then you must visit the famous Eilean Donan Museum which is close by and for the hustle and bustle of a town check out Kyle of Lochalsh which has a selection of shops, bars, restaurants and places of interest. Touring the Isle of Skye is an essential day out and it’s only a short drive from the house. Time spent at Druidaig Lodge is time well spent. EPC Rating: Band G

The picturesque village of Dornie sits amidst the stunning West Highland countryside, just nine miles from the bustling village of Kyle of Lochalsh. The village itself, a walker’s paradise, offers good amenities including a village shop, a local pub and numerous walking and cycling opportunities, with stunning views of the coastline and mountainous regions beyond to be enjoyed. Nearby Kyle of Lochalsh, known as the gateway to the Isle of Skye, offers a range of shops, hotels and restaurants and boasts a busy harbour that plays host to a variety of cargo, fishing and occasional passenger vessels. Nearby Eilean Donan Castle, one of Scotland's most famous and popular sights, is perched at the end of a stone causeway on the shores of Loch Duich, whilst further south is the Glenelg Peninsula, a tranquil backwater, which is beautiful, remote and relatively undiscovered. An easy drive north of Kyle is the charming village of Plockton, famous for its palm trees, yacht-filled bay and the nearby hamlet of Duirinish with Highland cattle which wander the streets! Alternatively, cross the Skye Bridge to Skye itself and explore all that the mystical Isle has to offer.

It’s well catered for big groups and located in my favourite part of Scotland. The owner was very communicative before and during the booking. We hope to be back

The location is superb and we made the most of the loch and local walks. The house has great character and is extremely well-equipped, especially the kitchen, which was very helpful, as we did a fair bit of cooking. WiFi worked well. We enjoyed the gardens and the great weather even made it possible to swim in the loch. Communication with the owner was excellent. Some constructive feedback would be 1) The top floor bedrooms could do with a refresh. We didn’t want to use them. 2) Time for some new (fluffier!) towels. 3) There was a problem with water pressure in one of the bathrooms, which made the bath unusable. We were able to work around that, but more of an issue was that there was only one shower (NB the listing suggests there are 2. I think.) While the shower did work very well, it’s not really adequate for 15 people. Overall, we were happy with the house and enjoyed everything it had to offer. We would happily book again .

Nicely done gardens. Only one shower for ten rooms. Way too expensive for what you get.
