Nestled on the outskirts of Maryburgh, in the Scottish Highlands, is this delightful semi-detached farm cottage. This holiday home is part of a larger Estate with lots to offer, and rests on the ground floor and offers a warm and welcoming interior for friends or families. Step into the open-plan living room and dining area with plenty of seating to sink into and unwind into the evening with your favourite shows on the television. The dining table is an excellent space for enjoying some home-cooked meals, or bringing some board games from home and spreading out for a friendly game. The kitchen has been fitted to a high standard and houses all the appliances you could need to rustle up some local delicacies. The property offers a double and twin bedroom, both of which have a selection of contemporary furnishings for storage purposes, benefitting from a family bathroom where you can choose between a bath or shower over. To the front of the property is a gravelled area and lawned garden where you can sit out in the evening sun and dine alfresco, whilst your pet runs freely. While you're in the area, take a drive into the bustling city of Inverness, home to a wealth of attractions suiting people of all ages and tastes. History enthusiasts will delight in spending time at Inverness Castle, set on the edge of a cliff and overlooking the River Ness. Made from red sandstone, this 19th century castle was built on the site of an 11th century structure and holds a wealth of history inside. Also nearby is Inverness Museum and Art Gallery, home to a collection of Victorian artwork and artefacts celebrating the history and heritage of the area. Activities on the Estate include fishing, birdwatching, shooting, walking and endless situations for the keen photographer. There are also seven golf courses less than half an hour’s drive away. Fishing for Brown Trout on the River Conon or Pike on Loch Ussie is free to our Balnain 2 cottage guests. A popular place for long walks with your four-legged friend can be found at the Ness Islands where you can explore the woodland area. Balnain 2 Holiday Cottage is a wonderful choice for a rural retreat to Scotland, where there are lots of activities right on your doorstep on the Estate itself, or further afield if you so desire.
