Morven and Stroma Pods are situated next to each other in the rural village of Auckengill. They are cosy and warm and have lovely views of open countryside to one side and across fields to the sea on the other. They have a double bed, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, tv/DVD player and heating. We supply bottled water, milk, tea, coffee, sugar and breakfast cereals plus treats for you. The shower block is just a few steps away and each pod has its own shower, toilet and sink within the block so the facilities are not shared. We provide all bed linen and towels.

The Shepherd's Nook is our brand new shepherd's hut for 2021. Please note: WE DO NOT allow dogs IN THE shepherd'S HUT (deluxe chalet). It sits opposite the pods with lovely views over the countryside. It has an ensuite shower room. a double bed, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, tv/DVD player and heating. We supply milk, tea, coffee, sugar and breakfast cereals plus some treats for you. We provide all bed linen, towels and blankets. It is cosy with a little bit of luxury and a touch of quirkiness!

We would love you to come and stay in our lovely cosy pods or shepherd's hut. We like to give you space but are on hand if you have any questions or need any help.

We are situated in the rural village of Auckengill a couple of minutes off the NC500. Auckengill is home to the Broch Centre which has some interesting Viking and Pictish artefacts and also has a small harbour and a sandy cove. We are five miles south of John O'Groats with its shops and eateries and, of course, the famous sign post. Ferries to Orkney are a fifteen minute drive away. The passenger ferry from John O'Groats runs from May to October and offers tours of Orkney. The car ferry at Gills runs all year round. The Castle of Mey, the former home of the Queen Mother is about 20 minutes drive away. Nearby there are long sandy beaches which even in summer do not get busy. Wick is ten miles away and has supermarkets, shops and petrol stations as well as a train station.
