Tamarchan Lodge is highly praised for its beautiful location, cleanliness, and comfort, making it an ideal base for exploring the Scottish Highlands. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities and the thoughtful touches provided by the housekeeper, contributing to memorable stays for families and groups.
The majority of guests found the lodge to be clean and well-presented upon arrival. One review mentioned the need for a better clean and damp towels, but this seems to be an isolated incident rather than a common issue.
The location is consistently described as perfect, beautiful, and ideal for exploring the West of Scotland, with proximity to Fort William and local sights. The views and setting are particularly appreciated.
Guests find the lodge comfortable, with cosy beds and spacious living areas. The lodge is well-received for accommodating large groups and providing a homely atmosphere.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-provisioned kitchen and comfortable lounge. However, some guests noted that the kitchen could be updated and the gutters cleaned, indicating room for improvement in maintenance.
The housekeeper's kindness and thoughtful gestures, such as a goody basket and a hand-drawn picture, are highlighted and appreciated. While such gifts are warmly mentioned, they are not guaranteed for all stays.

Although the weather wasn't Great we All had a Great Week . The House is really Cosy and Comfortable as are the Beds , we All slept really Well . The House is in a Lovely elevated position, set into the Hillside and Pine Forest to the Rear. The only Downside is the Kitchen is a Little Tired and the Gutters Need Cleaning, as when it Rains when going through the Front Door it was like a Torrent . But overall we would Return 👌

We stayed at this amazing place in Scotland and absolutely loved it! The location was perfect – with great roads for exploring and just a short drive to the beautiful towns of Glencoe and Fort William. We drove all the way from Norfolk, over 500 miles, and were greeted with a spotless, welcoming home that had everything we needed (and more!) for our family of 9.What made it even more special was the kindness of the housekeeper. She went out of her way to make our autistic son feel comfortable and at home, even preparing a thoughtful goody basket for him. She also surprised us with a beautiful hand-drawn picture of the cottage, which we’ll treasure forever. We’ll definitely be back, and can’t thank you enough for such a memorable stay. (P.S. – I hope you found the remote, apologies!)
