Guests say

Hillside Cottage offers a peaceful and scenic retreat in the Northern Highlands, ideal for those seeking tranquillity, wildlife, and proximity to beautiful beaches. Guests appreciate the large garden, stunning views, and the cottage’s traditional charm. While the property is clean and well-equipped, some mention dated décor and minor maintenance issues. The cottage is best suited for those looking to unwind and enjoy nature, rather than luxury. Overall, it provides excellent value for its location and setting.

Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, with particular praise for the cleaning standards. However, a few noted areas needing attention, such as the oven and some signs of mould in the bathroom and window frames.

The location is highly praised for its remoteness, tranquillity, and proximity to beaches, wildlife, and walking trails. Guests loved the views and the peaceful setting, making it a standout feature.

Guests found the beds comfortable and enjoyed the cosy atmosphere, but some mentioned low ceilings, dated furnishings, and a lack of comfortable seating. The cottage is best for those who value simplicity and peace over luxury.

The cottage is described as well-equipped with all essentials, though the kitchen is compact and some maintenance (such as painting and oven cleaning) is needed. Facilities are functional but basic, reflecting the cottage’s traditional style.

Very good time had with my husband just what we wanted very quiet but lots to see, barn owls, stags, raptors and loads of other birds, cottage very nice but just needs a bit of TLC to paint work other than that everything you needed was was there to use, beach only 15 minutes walk away

lovely location very quiet great for exploring the area. . Deer wander around cottage ,owls flying by and eagles in the distance . beach a 10 min walk away . views are lovely . It is a compact kitchen but has everything you need .Has you can see from the photos it is dated back to 70/80s but clean and functional bed comfortable. I would definitely recommend for the price its worth it .

Absolutely brilliant! I loved every moment in the Sheigra hamlet. I walked from the door every day, had really good weather and have photos showing the coastal views looking like the southern Mediterranean! Seeing a golden eagle was the icing on the cake!
