Suil Na Mara offers a peaceful setting in a beautiful location, ideal for those seeking tranquility and a base to explore the Northern Highlands. Guests appreciate the lodge's privacy, wildlife encounters, and the helpfulness of the caretaker. While some find the lodge comfortable and well-equipped, others note areas needing improvement, such as garden maintenance and updating of amenities.
Reviews indicate a generally clean environment, with some guests noting the property looked clean and was very clean on arrival. However, there are mentions of specific areas, such as cupboards and surfaces, that were not up to standard, affecting the score.
The location is highly praised for its beauty and tranquility, with wildlife sightings adding to the charm. Criticisms focus on the lack of sea views due to overgrown vegetation and the need to drive for amenities, slightly diminishing the score.
Comfort levels are mixed, with some guests finding the lodge cosy and beds comfortable, while others report issues with mattresses, particularly the twin beds, and uncomfortable lounge furniture.
Facilities are deemed adequate by some, but several guests report on the need for maintenance, such as updating kitchenware, improving shower temperature control, and addressing garden overgrowth. The lack of Wi-Fi and poor TV reception are also noted.
There is insufficient information regarding the thoughtfulness of the host, such as gifts or special touches for guests, to provide a score in this category.

The lovely porch to enjoy coffee in the mornings while overlooking the lovely garden which attracted all kinds of birds and deer. The warmth and cosiness of the sitting room was appreciated after long days of hiking. Comfortable beds and pillows, we all slept really well. Never ending hot water so all of us could take showers and not worry about everyone getting a nice shower. It's a great place to stay, very clean and nice kitchen.

It was large and well maintained. The biscuits, tea, coffee etc left were really handy. Loved the wild aspect of the garden and you were not overlooked by neighbours. Near lovely beaches that are great for swimming in and paddleboarding.
