Site Description

Wildside Highland Lodges is part of our Evermore Lodge Holidays Collection, nestling in idyllic woodland on the banks of the River Fechlin, deep in the heart of the Highlands. The best of traditional Scotland meets the ultimate luxury escape.

A backdrop of stunning mountain scenery characterises this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Located on the majestic South Loch Ness Trail, the new exciting trail takes in seven lochs and stretches 28 miles between Loch Tarff to Troutbeck with several awe inspiring viewpoints where Loch Ness stretches out before you. Wildside offers enough activities to keep even the most active amused and the perfect retreat for creating cherished family holiday memories your way.

Favoured by rare red deer among its host of wildlife, this nature lovers’ paradise is a rich patchwork of heather-clad hills, lush dark forests, sparkling lochs – including fabled Loch Ness – and breathtaking panoramic views begging exploration. Meanwhile, both Fort Augustus and Inverness are easily accessible by car and make for great family days out for all to enjoy.

Given that the price for Wildcat lodge was comparable with other lodges, this lodge is mediocre in comparison. Due to its location on the site it rarely receives any sunlight (although it is advertised as being south facing) and as such is damp inside. The advertised mountain view can not be seen from the large picture window. It’s proximity to the excellent Whitebridge hotel bar and restaurant and it’s general location, partially salvages this review.

I recommend it to everyone, but there was no parking next to the cottage.I was informed about this in advance.

Just fantastic! My only negative is that when we arrived there was no parking at the Wildcat and every other lodge have 2 cars outside so left no parking areas! One of the guests from the lodge opposite came and asked us if there was a problem and we said we have no parking area so they moved their cars over and we squeezed in. Maybe this should be made aware of when booking Wildcat Lodge 
