Take a refreshing drink outside and sit within the spacious garden, offering plenty of room to enjoy family games whilst your canine companion stretches their legs. The village of Strontian offers a selection of hotels with fine dining and bar menus, along with a couple of shops for picking up any forgotten essentials. Walkers will be in awe of the surrounding area; meander along the village paths leading up to the open moor and dropping down to the river valley or take a stroll along the idyllic shoreline where you can spot otters and sea eagles! With Loch Sunart on the doorstep, guests can bring a small boat and take advantage of the local slipway and enjoy some watersports. If you fancy a day by the coast then drive along the winding single track road to Sanna Bay, one of the most stunning beaches on the Ardnamurcha Peninsula, here you can lounge on sandy dunes, swim in turquoise waters, explore the rocky coves and look out for an array of coastal birds – it’s a great place to lose yourself. With the Ariundle Oakwood National Nature Reserve within striking distance, Horsley Cottage provides a delightful base with plenty of outdoor opportunity in the Scottish Highlands. Nice big garden, which was secure for our dog. Friendly owners who live nearby, so great if any problems. The welcome gift was lovely ( wine, shortbread, and nice treats) It was great to see the birds feeding from the bird table which was next to the kitchen door. Lots of local walks from the cottage. We had a very nice stay in Strontian.

It was a well equipped comfy retreat in a stunning location. The welcome pack was a lovely touch after a long journey. Strontian is a stunning peaceful place with some great walks/hikes from the cottage door. Hotel bar is very dog friendly.

Lovely garden and seating area. Had two dogs with us who enjoyed the garden which was secure. Local shop has a good variety of things as no main shops close by and the Ferry is not running so it makes it a long trip if you want to get anywhere.
