Largo Bay House enjoys a prestigious spot with phenomenal, uninterrupted sea views on the water’s edge in Largo Bay. Within its traditional Victorian exterior lies a cool, contemporary interior where guests can holiday in total luxury. The house enjoys a secluded spot with a walled garden with a sweeping lawn, an alfresco dining and lounging terrace and direct beach access. Largo Bay House is set up as two independent, three bedroom apartments although the house and garden are let as one. This works perfectly for large groups who may enjoy a little privacy as well as time together. Though it may be tempting to nestle down in this beach hideaway playing on the beach, watching the sunsets and dining alfresco under the stars, the mighty Scottish golf courses of St Andrews, Largo Links, Elie and Earlsferry, Dumbarnie Links, Kingsbarns Links and Crail Golfing Society offer golfers plenty of reason to leave the beach and the beautiful walled garden. The Fife coastal path is perfect for hikers, the Fife Heritage Railway hosts regular open days and the historic, picturesque coastal villages of Elie and Crail just have to be visited. While staying in Largo Bay House, you may also want to visit the fantastic city of Edinburgh for a day too.

In total, Largo Bay House sleeps twelve guests in six bedrooms. Each of the two apartments enjoy a beautiful master bedroom with a super kingsize bed and gorgeous sea views, another double room with a kingsize bed and a third bedroom, ideal for children, with a set of full-size bunkbeds. There are gorgeous bathrooms in each apartment and wonderful living spaces that make the most of the breathtaking views. With giant sash windows, the apartments soak up the vistas and are light-flooded. The laid back, chic interiors offer exceptional living spaces. The lower apartment’s living space is open plan in design, a capsule of contemporary cool. Surrounded by elegant teal walls, you can snuggle on the cool corner sofa or antique chairs, watching the movie of your choice on the enormous wall-mounted television. You can cook up a storm in the chef’s dream of a kitchen and dine with a sea view on the farmhouse table. When the cold sets in, the cosy log burning stove will keep you company. The modern kitchen comes with a full range cooker, a double fridge freezer and a welcome Nespresso coffee machine. If you want to eat out one evening, the award-winning Crusoe Restaurant is just a few minutes away. The teal colourway continues into the spacious bedrooms. The master is enormous and the beautifully dressed bed is perfectly positioned to enjoy the gorgeous sea views. The double and bunk rooms are minimalist in styling, smart and elegant.

The upstairs living and dining space is wonderfully airy and bright. It enjoys gorgeous period features including an intricate ceiling rose and cornicing, sash windows and a feature fireplace which offers a crackling atmosphere on chilly evenings. Cheery scatter cushions adorn the sofa and accent chairs offering vibrant colour pops and the dining table and chairs is tucked into a cute space. The galley kitchen is modern with all the appliances you could possibly need for your self-catering break. Perhaps you could take it in turns to cook and eat in each apartment. The bedrooms are similar to the ones below with teal tones, crisp cottons and minimalist styling. The family bathrooms are beautifully presented, fully tiled and offering baths with overhead showers. There is a super cute balcony where you can enjoy your morning cup of coffee while taking in the brilliant sea vistas.

You may well want to spend most of your time on the sun-drenched, sea-facing terrace lazing on luxury sofas between dips in the sea. There is plenty of space for family games on the lush lawn. Largo Bay House offers a double kayak that guests are welcome to use.

Largo Bay House sits in a privileged position next to the sea in the ancient fishing village of Lower Largo. It is renowned for its stunning beach and as the birthplace of the 17th century sailor, Alexander Selkirk, who inspired Daniel Defoe to write Robinson Crusoe. The quaint village centre has changed little since the 1850’s when fishing was one of the village’s main industries. Today Lower Largo harbour is popular with pleasure craft sailors and is a starting point for walkers enjoying a section of the Fife Coastal Path. The village’s spectacular views across the Forth Estuary and its laid-back ambience have made this village popular with artists. Largo Arts Week takes place every July with plenty of open studios, art exhibitions and music.

Largo Bay House is twenty minute’s drive from St Andrews, Scotland’s world-famous home of golf. St Andrews is the Kingdom of Fife’s historic gem, famous also for its university, medieval streets and fantastic traditional buildings including St Andrews Cathedral. This superb golf capital boasts ten fantastic courses including the renowned Old Course. St Andrews offers excellent shopping, some wonderful art galleries, interesting museums and spectacular golden beaches. Visitors enjoy fine dining in many atmospheric restaurants as well as delicious ice creams from the local ice cream parlours. There are many exciting and interesting attractions from the cathedral to St Andrews Castle and Scotland’s Secret Bunker. The remains of St Andrews Cathedral are a must-see for any visitor. It was once the largest church in Scotland and the museum is home to a fantastic collection of medieval sculptures and relics which were found on the site. For amazing views across St Andrews and Fife, visitors can climb St Rule’s Tower which dates from the 12th century. St Andrews Castle enjoys a history spanning four hundred and fifty years. It has been a bishop’s palace, a fortress and a state prison. The Old Course is the golfing location which every golfer aspires to visit. It is one of the most famous golf courses in the world and visitors can join an expert guide to walk around the 1st, 17th and 18th holes, walking in the footsteps of golfing legends and experiencing a player’s eye view. There are ballots to play on the Old Course but you can book in advance to play on some of the other golfing wonders including The Castle Course, The New Course, the Jubilee Course, the Eden Course and the Strathtyrum Course. Another popular adventure is to take one of the St Andrews Ghost Tours which introduce visitors to many haunted locations including the Cathedral and St Andrews University.

The Fife Pilgrim Way is a wonderfully scenic long-distance walk through the ancient Kingdom of Fife. Visitors can follow in the footsteps of pilgrims who flocked to Fife between the 11th and 16th centuries to be near to the bones of St Andrew, one of Jesus’ disciples. It was considered to be the next best thing to the Holy Land, joining ranks with the Santiago de Compostela and Rome.

Elie is a delightful seaside village in the East Neuk of Fife. Sitting on the edge of a golden curve of sand, it boasts an ancient harbour that was established in the 16th century. The bay is popular with windsurfers and bathers and the town boasts two golf courses. James Braid, the celebrated golf course designer and five times winner of the British Open Golf Championship in the early 20th century was born in Elie. Elie enjoys many historic buildings including The Lady’s Tower, a summer house built for Lady Janet Anstruther.

Crail is another picturesque wonder with its renowned golf courses, Craighead Links and Balcomie Links, excellent eateries and historic buildings. Its beautiful harbour is brimming with creel boats, sailing boats and lobster pots. Crail is popular with foodies with its Crail Food Festival in June and its artisan bakery, independent grocer, family run butcher and summer lobster hut. The pottery and paintings in Crail Pottery and Crail Harbour Gallery battle for attention with the breathtaking sea views.

The captivating City of Edinburgh enjoys a wealth of top attractions for the whole family, excellent shopping opportunities and sensational fine dining. With a stunning backdrop of the dramatic Arthur’s Seat, the Pentland Hills and Edinburgh’s waterfront, this ever popular city is a remarkable place to visit. In just a few days you can take a cruise on the River Forth, explore the ancient castle, shop until you drop, wander through the cosmopolitan streets of the Port of Leith, listen to bagpipes and dine until you burst.
