Overall, the cottage offers a delightful and relaxing stay with excellent attention to detail.

Cleanliness is frequently highlighted, with guests describing the cottage as 'spotlessly clean', 'immaculate', and 'beautifully maintained'. Only one review mentioned a minor issue with pet hair, but overall, standards are exceptionally high.

Most guests found the cottage very comfortable and relaxing, with cosy furnishings and a homely feel. However, several reviews mention the mattress being thin or uncomfortable, which affected sleep quality for some visitors.

The cottage is described as well-equipped, with everything needed for a pleasant stay, including a secure garden and BBQ. Some minor maintenance issues were noted, such as a non-functioning extractor fan and heating controls, but these did not significantly impact the overall positive impression.

Horseshoe cottage is a delight. It was a pleasure to stay there. It is so quiet and comfortable and has everything you will need. The neighbours are lovely and friendly. Should you need help with anything Jackie and Alan are always available to chat to. There are a number of interesting places to visit, like Loch Leven, St Andrews, Falkirk, Falkland etc. Would highly recommend staying here.

Had a lovely few days at Horseshoe Cottage which is beautifully devastated and very well equipped ( a stair gate to stop dogs from going upstairs would be a useful addition) very glad the weather wasn’t wet as not a house for a dirty dog! Location good. Spar very well equipped and pub a very friendly local everyone spoke to us whilst we had a drink on a couple of nights. Good location for coast. We walked from Eli to Anstruther and got a bus back. And St Andrews for golfing partner’s pilgrimage! Falkland is a short walk and interesting visited. We also did Loch Leven and a very steep hill ! Food in the area excellent coastal villages have plenty of seafood and the Boar at Auchtermuchty lived up to its numerous accolades. All in all a good break that I would recommend Small negative is the bed isn’t the most comfortable if you’re a side sleeper and house maybe a little too perfect 🤩 for a boisterous muddy dog
