Maisie Cottage is a spacious, well-equipped holiday home in a fantastic location just a short walk from the harbour and coastal paths. Guests consistently praise its size, sea views, and comfortable beds, making it ideal for families and couples alike. The cottage offers excellent value for money and a peaceful setting, with a secure garden perfect for dogs. While some areas could benefit from updating and minor repairs, and the single downstairs bathroom may be less convenient for larger groups, most guests enjoyed a relaxing and memorable stay.
Many guests found the cottage clean and tidy, with fresh bedding and towels provided. However, several reviews mention issues such as cobwebs, stained mugs, and areas needing a deeper clean, particularly in the bathroom and carpets. Overall, cleanliness is generally acceptable but could be improved with more attention to detail.
The location is highly praised, with guests loving the proximity to the harbour, coastal walks, and nearby towns. The peaceful setting, sea views, and easy parking are frequently highlighted as standout features.
Guests appreciate the spaciousness, comfortable beds, and warmth of the cottage. Some mention soft mattresses in certain rooms and low-back furniture as minor drawbacks, but overall comfort is rated positively, especially for smaller groups.
The cottage is well-equipped with kitchen essentials and amenities, making it suitable for families and longer stays. However, recurring issues include a temperamental shower, curtains needing repair, and the inconvenience of a single downstairs bathroom for larger groups. Some maintenance and updates would enhance the experience.
There are no specific mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

A large, comfortable and well-equipped cottage. We especially enjoyed the sea views from the kitchen and rear bedroom. There was ample parking outside, and the road was quiet. It is an easy walk to the harbour, cafe, shops, and bus stop. The beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water. We couldn't get the television to work, but the internet was fine. The heating comes on at fixed times, but additional electric heaters are available if required. We found the stairs and the downstairs bathroom more of an issue than we anticipated. The stairs curve round, and the handrail is on the side which narrows as it curves. A handrail on the other side would have made it easier.
