Maisie Cottage is a spacious, well-equipped holiday home in a fantastic location close to the harbour and coastal walks. Guests appreciate its comfortable beds, large kitchen, and enclosed garden, making it ideal for families and dog owners. While the property is not the most modern and could benefit from some updates and extra bathroom facilities, it offers excellent value for money and a relaxing base for exploring the East Neuk. Most guests enjoyed their stay and would return, highlighting the cottageās charm and practicality.
Many guests found the cottage clean and tidy, but several mentioned issues such as cobwebs, stained mugs, and areas needing more thorough cleaning. While most found it acceptable, a few felt cleanliness could be improved.
The location is consistently praised, with guests loving the proximity to the harbour, coastal path, and nearby towns. The peaceful setting and sea views are frequently highlighted as standout features.
Guests generally found the cottage spacious and the beds comfortable, with a warm and homely feel. Some noted issues with soft mattresses, low-back furniture, and the inconvenience of having only one bathroom downstairs, especially for larger groups.
The cottage is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and has a secure garden. However, guests noted maintenance issues such as faulty lights, curtains, and a temperamental shower. The lack of an upstairs toilet was a common drawback.

Lovely cottage in nice little village. Limited amenities close by but ok if you have a car. Very well equipped. Only drawback is no toilet upstairs. . There were 6 of us so just one toilet was a bit of a bind, especially through the night. Would have given 5 stars if not for this. However, would definitely go back.

We Loved Maisie Cottage! It felt like a home from home. Plenty of pots, all the kitchen utensils you could need. And very comfy bed. We didn't mind that only bathroom was downstairs, but could be problem if you need to get up in the night.Loved the view of the water from kitchen and main bedroom, and the small enclosed garden was perfect for our dog.We went to Anstruther on the Saturday, and it was mobbed. It was so nice coming back to the peace and tranquility of St Monans after a day exploring!
