Thoughtfully furnished, this lovely single-storey cottage provides everything you need for a holiday by the sea. Look out for the secret porthole which gives you the perfect view of the Isle of May.
Located in the town of Anstruther, the property is just a few minutes walk to the local pub, shop and restaurant, which sell locally caught seafood. Down by the harbour you can explore the quaint streets and cobbled lanes of this historic town. Take a boat trip to the Isle of May, a world-renowned bird sanctuary and nature reserve, famous for puffins and grey seals. The Scottish Fisheries Museum is also well worth a visit. The East Neuk of Fife, known for its picturesque fishing villages and beautiful beaches and coves, boasts the Fife Coastal Path, which leads through the town towards Crail and St Andrews and Pittenweem, St Monans and Elie. The property is just 9 miles away from the ancient university town of St Andrews. Although the cottage doesn’t have a garden, you can sit out in the Wynd and enjoy a glass of fizz while watching the sun go down. Beach 200 yards. Shops, pubs and restaurants 300 yards.

Great location to explore the East Neuk area and Fife coastal path and easy access to the local pubs and shops. Very comfortable and clean cottage with easy parking opposite. Lovely welcome pack which was much appreciated.

Superb cottage, well equipped and in a very quiet location. It is close to all the pubs and eateries in Anstruther, great welcome pack I particularly enjoyed the local marmalade. I would thoroughly recommend Fidra cottage. This was our second time and it was just as good as the first, loved it. Thank you Annette and Derek from Lincoln.

A quiet week with my dog, here for the sea and beaches (even in rubbish weather in February!) but mainly as a base to see family in Fife. The cottage is absolutely lovely, well furnished, very cosy with thoughtful touches. The love of the owners for the sea shines through in the decoration. The only reason I'm giving a 'good' rather than 'excellent' for comfort and equipment was because the shower is quirky but a little playing with the water pressure initially gives you a good hot shower in the end. I don't expect perfection in a beautifully restored, old fisherman's cottage, they have their own character! So, I would whole heartedly recommend it. At the end of the Wynd is a high sea wall, giving a lovely view of the beach, sky, lighthouse and Isle of May (which you can also see from a porthole in the house - telescope provided!). You can't get down to the beach there so you just have a short walk around the block. The stars at night are beautiful in a clear sky, as is the sea (whatever the weather!). Around is all the attraction of the East Neuk of Fife. Everyone we met in Anstruther was friendly, the town is pretty and historically interesting and there are similar treasures all down the coast. I would absolutely go again.
