We arrived on 29/5/26, we had walked from Dalmeni rail station by written instructions from the owner. It was a long & trecherous walk though woodland. This was difficult to walk through with suitcases. It took longer than we were expected. On arrival to house, it was advised to sanitise ourselves to avoid infection. The views of the Forth Bridge was amazing from the living area/kitchen.The seating was very uncomfortable, leather chair was slightly better for observing the views. A very basic "Welcome pack" was supplied. The "Guest book/Comments" book was falling apart, pages falling apart, not all comments were good. Although some were nice, thanking the owners for "letting guests stay" - are these guests forgetting they have had to pay for their stay?? The curtains in the bedroom came off the railing as to the makeshift fittings. The bed was a small double, not good for guests over 6ft 4inch. Noise from bedroom on a Thurs/Fri/Sat & Sunday night was very loud with cars racing each other & motorbikes until at least 2AM. The local pubs & bars/restaurants were quite nice. The only supermarket nearby was a CO OP with no other shops within walking distance. It is a very steep wooded area around the property, not easy walking &then the cottage itself has steep stairs which are immediately off the bedroom which is very dangerous. It is NOT SUITABLE for people with mobility problems. On leaving day we were instructed to clean kitchen & hoover the carpets & take bedding off bed to put in bags that were provided. These were too small to put all bedding inside. We are on holiday we should not have to clean the property on leaving as this should be completed by owners on the "turn around" days, bot the guests!! Not Happy at all with the instructions. Not very welcoming instructions. Overall, the view won the best vote out of the week stay. We would NOT Recommend this cottage to anyone sadly.

Had amazing 3 day break quiet location with great views. We eat out at local restaurants which was 10min walk and both was amazing and friendly. Parking was a little difficult at night. The hostess was very warming and on arrival oh and cat lol
