Quay Cottage in Edinburgh is highly praised for its beautiful views, tranquil location, and cleanliness. Despite being under a flight path, the noise is quickly forgotten.
The cottage is consistently described as very clean and well-kept, with multiple reviews highlighting its spotless condition.
The location is greatly appreciated for its lovely views, peaceful environment, and accessibility to local attractions and Edinburgh, with only minor concerns about airport noise.
While the cottage is generally found to be comfortable and homely, there are several mentions of hard mattresses and a lumpy double bed, which suggests room for improvement in this area.

There are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate the level of thoughtfulness, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

You’d never believe this property was located on the outskirts of the city of Edinburgh. Cramond is one of those hidden secrets which offers a peaceful waterside setting on the banks of the Forth Estuary and is less than 5 miles from the hustle and bustle of the excitement and wonder of Scotland’s capital city.
This fabulous cottage oozes charm and has the most amazing harbour view to the rear. More importantly, it has been fitted and equipped with the guest experience at heart. The two bedrooms will sleep four people comfortably in a double and twin bedroom. The living room has a spacious feel, a living gas flame fireplace and comfy furniture making it the ideal place to retire after a day’s exploring the walks along the riverside or the city centre. The kitchen/dining room has everything needed to prepare and enjoy meals whatever the occasion and at the end of the day the dishwasher will take the strain out of the chores – no need to fight over who washes and who dries up. The shower room has been updated to high standards with a walk in shower and quality sanitaryware.
Within Cramond Village you’ll be pleased to find a bistro at the bottom of the steps next to the cottage, there is also the local café a short walk along the shore front, passing some of the small yet quiet beaches which the kids (and probably the adults too) will love. The historic church is a stone throw away. Local shops and supermarkets, fast food restaurants and the post office are available 1 mile away in both Davidsons Mains and Barnton, and as we mentioned, Edinburgh city centre is easily reached by car, taxi or bus, whether it’s shopping, visiting attractions like the castle or simply enjoying the scenery, bars cafés and restaurants, the city has it all. Beach 100 yards.

Really enjoyed our stay at Quay Cottage, everything we needed in terms of accommodation with good sized rooms and views over the Almond River. The location was perfect with lovely walks across to Cramond Island, along the Almond river and along the coast. We were visiting for the Fringe Festival which meant fun packed days with crowds of like minded jolly folk, but it was good to jump on the 11.50pm No 47 bus back to this peaceful cottage for a good nights sleep. Also enjoyed chatting to the neighbours in the courtyard who made us feel at home.I'm sure we will be back.

The cottage has everything you need and has a wonderful atmosphere. The view from the windows is amazing! The little nook on the terrace is such a lovely place to sit and nip your tea. It's the perfect base for visiting Edinburgh or going for a hike in the hills. The surroundings are beautiful! We had a marvelous time there.
