Quay Cottage in Edinburgh is highly praised for its beautiful views, peaceful location, and cleanliness. Guests enjoy the local walks, proximity to Edinburgh, and the friendly atmosphere. Some mention the firmness of the mattress and the noise from the nearby airport, but overall experiences are positive with many looking forward to returning.
Guests consistently note the cottage's cleanliness, describing it as 'spotlessly clean' and 'very clean', indicating high standards of hygiene and upkeep.
The location is celebrated for its wonderful views, tranquil setting, and easy access to Edinburgh. However, some guests note the proximity to the airport's flight path as a downside.
The cottage is generally found to be comfortable with a homely atmosphere. Some guests find the mattress too hard or lumpy, suggesting room for improvement in sleeping comfort.
Facilities are well-regarded, with the property being well-equipped and spacious. There are mentions of erratic central heating and a low-powered shower, indicating some areas that could be enhanced.
While guests express feeling at home and mention thoughtful touches, there are no specific references to gifts. Therefore, it is not possible to assess the thoughtfulness based on gifts, and this score is set to null.
A seaside location in the outskirts of Edinburgh, easy access to the road and motorway network.... what’s not to love about somewhere like this.. All on the

You’d never believe this property was located on the outskirts of the city of Edinburgh. Cramond is one of those hidden secrets which offers a peaceful waterside setting on the banks of the Forth Estuary and is less than 5 miles from the hustle and bustle of the excitement and wonder of Scotland’s capital city.
This fabulous cottage oozes charm and has the most amazing harbour view to the rear. More importantly, it has been fitted and equipped with the guest experience at heart. The two bedrooms will sleep four people comfortably in a double and twin bedroom. The living room has a spacious feel, a living gas flame fireplace and comfy furniture making it the ideal place to retire after a day’s exploring the walks along the riverside or the city centre. The kitchen/dining room has everything needed to prepare and enjoy meals whatever the occasion and at the end of the day the dishwasher will take the strain out of the chores – no need to fight over who washes and who dries up. The shower room has been updated to high standards with a walk in shower and quality sanitaryware.
Within Cramond Village you’ll be pleased to find a bistro at the bottom of the steps next to the cottage, there is also the local café a short walk along the shore front, passing some of the small yet quiet beaches which the kids (and probably the adults too) will love. The historic church is a stone throw away. Local shops and supermarkets, fast food restaurants and the post office are available 1 mile away in both Davidsons Mains and Barnton, and as we mentioned, Edinburgh city centre is easily reached by car, taxi or bus, whether it’s shopping, visiting attractions like the castle or simply enjoying the scenery, bars cafés and restaurants, the city has it all. Beach 100 yards.

Excellent cottage. It was lovely and warm when we arrived. Plenty of space. Beds were comfy. Very clean. Close to Cramond Quay. 10 minutes to bus stop into Edinburgh or 15 minutes by car to Park and Ride by the airport to get the train into the city. Would love to come back at another time to explore the area

Firstly, I'd like to say that Quay cottage was clean, easy to find, and had amazing views acros the water. It was a 5 minute walk to the bus route into Edinburgh where there is an abundance of places to visit. I always feel it's important to leave an honest review, so our biggest surprise was finding out that we were directly below the flight path of planes landing at Edinburgh airport. They begin regularly around 6.00am and if you are an early bird, then this won't be a problem but they are loud. They fly late into the night and being a 24 hr airport, can land in the early hours. During the day, it didn't bother us at all but I feel the description should include this. The cottage was adequate for our needs and very clean. Again, a personal opinion, but it would benefit from a bit of a makeover in the bedrooms. It felt a bit tired and not as inviting as it had the potential to be. It was good value for money but needs some tlc to make it even better.
