Guests appreciate the stunning views, easy access to Edinburgh and local walks, and the friendly neighbours. The cottage is consistently described as clean and comfortable, with thoughtful touches throughout. Some guests mention minor issues such as a firm mattress, occasional heating quirks, and aircraft noise due to proximity to the airport, but these do not detract from the overwhelmingly positive experience.
Multiple reviews highlight the cottage as spotlessly clean and well maintained, with only rare minor suggestions for bedroom updates.
The location is widely praised for its scenic views, peaceful setting, and convenient access to Edinburgh and local attractions. Some mention aircraft noise, but most guests quickly adapt.
Guests generally find the cottage comfortable and spacious, with cosy beds and a welcoming atmosphere. A few mention a firm or lumpy mattress and occasional heating issues.
The cottage is described as very well equipped, with everything needed for a pleasant stay. Minor issues include heating timing and a low-powered shower, but overall facilities are highly rated.
Guests note thoughtful touches such as a well-stocked kitchen and helpful communication from the owner. While some mention small extras, please note that gifts or special provisions are not guaranteed.

You’d never believe this property was located on the outskirts of the city of Edinburgh. Cramond is one of those hidden secrets which offers a peaceful waterside setting on the banks of the Forth Estuary and is less than 5 miles from the hustle and bustle of the excitement and wonder of Scotland’s capital city.
This fabulous cottage oozes charm and has the most amazing harbour view to the rear. More importantly, it has been fitted and equipped with the guest experience at heart. The two bedrooms will sleep four people comfortably in a double and twin bedroom. The living room has a spacious feel, a living gas flame fireplace and comfy furniture making it the ideal place to retire after a day’s exploring the walks along the riverside or the city centre. The kitchen/dining room has everything needed to prepare and enjoy meals whatever the occasion and at the end of the day the dishwasher will take the strain out of the chores – no need to fight over who washes and who dries up. The shower room has been updated to high standards with a walk in shower and quality sanitaryware.
Within Cramond Village you’ll be pleased to find a pub just a 2 minute walk away, bistro at the bottom of the steps next to the cottage, there is also the local café a short walk along the shore front, passing some of the small yet quiet beaches which the kids (and probably the adults too) will love. The historic church is a stone throw away. Local shops and supermarkets, fast food restaurants and the post office are available 1 mile away in both Davidsons Mains and Barnton, and as we mentioned, Edinburgh city centre is easily reached by car, taxi or bus, whether it’s shopping, visiting attractions like the castle or simply enjoying the scenery, bars cafés and restaurants, the city has it all. Beach 100 yards.

Excellent property in very good location

Really lovely cottage. Very spacious, clean and good facilities. Lovely location. The only slight downside was the local pub not serving food and the bus not running directly to Edinburgh but that was just for the few days we stayed and should be no problem usually. I’d definitely recommend and we’d stay again. The accommodation is much bigger than the photo would suggest which was a pleasant surprise. Parking was easy too.
