Guests say

Stronvaar is a beautifully presented, spacious and exceptionally well-equipped cottage in Stranraer, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and thoughtful touches. Guests consistently highlight the large garden and summerhouse, modern amenities, and convenient location near shops and attractions. The property is ideal for families and groups, with many reviewers noting it as the best holiday let they have experienced. Minor issues, such as the upstairs shower room's low ceiling and occasional heating queries, are far outweighed by the overwhelmingly positive feedback.

Cleanliness is repeatedly praised, with guests describing the property as spotlessly clean, well maintained, and immaculate throughout. No negative comments regarding cleanliness were noted.

The location is highly regarded for its proximity to Lidl, the town centre, and as a base for exploring Dumfries and Galloway. Some mention minimal road noise, but this is not seen as a significant issue.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as spacious, comfortable, and homely, with special mention of comfortable beds and suitability for all ages. Only minor comments about the upstairs shower room's ceiling height were noted.

Facilities are a standout feature, with guests highlighting the well-equipped kitchen (including an air fryer), modern amenities, large garden, and summerhouse. A few minor maintenance notes (e.g., tumble dryer water tray, shower room ceiling) were mentioned but did not detract from overall satisfaction.

Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as welcome packs with milk, biscuits, and Prosecco, as well as fresh flowers. While these gestures are frequently mentioned, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

A very comfortable, well-appointed home which sits in the town so is close to shops and amenities. Lovely summerhouse in the garden which is a great feature for those dull damp days. There is some traffic from the road but noise is minimal and infrequent. We loved it so much we have rebooked for next year.
