Guests say

Rose Cottage is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and beautiful, wildlife-rich surroundings. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, including welcome gifts, and the property's easy access to local attractions. While most experiences are positive, a few guests encountered maintenance issues and discomfort due to inadequate heating and kitchen facilities.

The majority of guests found Rose Cottage to be immaculately clean and well-kept, contributing to a comfortable and inviting stay. The consistent mention of cleanliness across reviews indicates a high standard maintained by the property.

Guests are charmed by the cottage's tranquil and picturesque setting, with easy access to local walks, wildlife, and attractions. The peacefulness and natural beauty of the location are frequently highlighted, although a few concerns about road safety were noted.

Comfort levels at Rose Cottage are generally high, with guests enjoying the cosy environment. However, some guests reported issues with cold temperatures in certain rooms and uncomfortable beds, suggesting room for improvement in ensuring consistent comfort throughout the property.

While the cottage is praised for being well-equipped and providing a homely feel, there are several reports of maintenance issues such as problematic kitchenware, heating challenges, and water quality concerns. These issues indicate that while the facilities are adequate, they require attention to detail and better upkeep.

The provision of welcome gifts such as wine and biscuits is frequently mentioned and appreciated by guests, reflecting the owner's thoughtfulness. However, it should be noted that such gestures, while common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

THE COTTAGE WAS SPOT ON WITH EVERYTHING WE NEEDED. QUIET, REMOTE FEEL BUT ONLT 10 MINS FROM TONS OF BEACHES. WE SAW RED DEER, RED SQUIRRELS, BUZZARDS,WOODPECKER IN FIELD NEAR GARDEN. RED+ROE DEER ON THE WALK TO THE BEACH + LEAPING TROUT AT LADYBAY. THE WEATHER WAS PERFECT, IT WAS HARD TO BELIEVE WE WAS IN SCOTLAND. WE REALLY APPRECIATED THE EXTRAS FROM CAROLINE & HAVE ALREADY BOOKED TO RETURN NEXT YEAR.

Clean, comfortable and welcoming. A huge garden, woods to explore and a whole variety of birds to watch feeding. There are many dog friendly attractions nearby, beaches, castles, stately homes. Looking forward to going back sone.

The setting is delightful within the woodland and near a working dairy farm. We enjoyed the abundance of birds including Woodpeckers, Jay, Nuthatch and the more usual visitors. Several mornings there were two red Squirrels but we saw at least one daily. The owner had filled a large number of feeders which we topped up. On our last evening a browsing small red deer delighted us with a visit. The cottage is comfortable and cosy. We enjoyed visits to Glenwham Gardens ( dog friendly), Portpatrick, Portlogan, Drummore and walks near the Rhins and along the promenade in Stranraer. A really lovely part of the South West of Scotland.
