Situated in the quiet village of Ardwell on the spectacular and dramatic coastline of south west Scotland and is also on the designated and scenic ‘Southwest Coastal 300’, a stunningly scenic 300-mile road trip around the south west of Scotland. This pretty little cottage offers couples and all the comforts of home. The living/dining room, with its bay window, is the perfect spot to sit and enjoy a family meal where you can also enjoy the views of the sea. The bedrooms are decorated in soft colours and complemented by the furnishings whilst the shower room is modern and bright. The gardens at Ardwell Park are beautifully laid out and you can sit and relax in the evening, perhaps with a glass of wine, with uninterrupted views over open farmland.
This corner of south west Scotland, known as ‘The Rhins of Galloway’ is an unspoilt area and boasting idyllic scenery and amazing seascapes, as dramatic as they are beautiful. Just along the road from Ardwell Park is Drummore, Scotland’s most southerly village, and a short drive from the village is the Mull of Galloway, Scotland’s most southerly point. With its rspb visitor centre, the area is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and you can enjoy a stunning circular walk where thousands of seabird nests in the cliff face during the spring and summer. Harbour porpoises, dolphins, seals, otters and minke whales can also be spotted. Walking in the area is a delight whether clifftop, beaches, hills or forests, and is a cyclist’s paradise, with miles of quiet country lanes on your doorstep as well as the world famous 7Stanes within easy reach. Golfing and fishing opportunities are also in abundance in the area, so everyone is catered for. No stay would be complete without a visit to Logan Botanic Gardens, world renowned and Scotland’s most exotic garden, where you can discover the most remarkable collection of beautiful and unusual plants from south and central America, southern Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, it really is a paradise to behold. Absolutely brilliant place. Well laid out, comfortable and very clean. Two adults and two autistic children. The kids loved it which meant we did as well. Plenty of information about the surrounding area and what’s on. Lovely host and only a phone call away. Only wish we had booked a longer stay.
