Guests say

This spacious and well-equipped cottage in Sandhead receives high praise for its excellent location just a short walk from a beautiful beach, making it ideal for families and dog owners. Guests consistently highlight the comfortable living spaces, powerful showers, and secure garden. The owner is noted for being responsive and welcoming. While most reviews mention a high standard of cleanliness, a few guests noted occasional lapses in housekeeping. Some guests would prefer blackout curtains in the bedrooms. Overall, the property offers a relaxing and enjoyable stay with thoughtful touches throughout.

Most guests found the property very clean and well-presented, with several describing it as spotless. However, a minority reported issues such as leftover food, unwashed crockery, and minor bathroom cleaning lapses, which slightly lowers the score.

The location is highly praised, with guests loving the proximity to the beach, local shops, and restaurants. The peaceful setting and easy access to attractions are frequently mentioned as highlights.

Guests found the cottage spacious, cosy, and comfortable, with many complimenting the beds and powerful showers. A few noted the lack of blackout curtains and some found the beds less comfortable, but overall comfort is rated very highly.

The property is described as very well-equipped, with a modern kitchen, garden furniture, and all necessary appliances. Minor maintenance issues such as WiFi interference and a suggestion to check a shower seal were mentioned, but did not detract significantly from guests' experiences.

Many guests appreciated the welcome packs and flowers provided by the owner, as well as the owner's attentiveness and helpfulness. Please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

The Docherty's We booked 2 mote view for the October week and it couldn't have been more perfect for us , we came into a spotless house with a nice welcome tray of goodies for us , the house itself has good size bedrooms and a decent sized kitchen diner with a big enough table to comfortably sit 6 , it is well equipped with everything we needed for our week ,the back garden was a nice place to sit out as we got some decent weather for October, its a small village if thats what your after but big on friendliness, we have a boxer who was with us so we spent a lot of walks on the spotless beach with him which is a 2 minute walk away down the lane at the front of the cottage, every time we went out with him people would stop to pet him and chat away to us , there is the hotel which is a 2 mins walk away which is dog friendly and the 2 nights we ate there our food was great with friendly staff. Louise (owner) was also great and was on hand if we needed her(but we didn't) she even came past and put our bins out the day before they were due to be collected . Over all we couldn't fault it so will be going back again 100% recommendation from us

This was our first time to this area of Scotland and we loved it. We stayed 3 nights but would like to return for longer, as there's so much to see. The Galloway Forest and feeding the red deer was a highlight. The property is lovely, very clean, well equipped and a short stroll to the beach. The welcome pack was much appreciated, thank you.
