The property lies along the western edge of the Machars Peninsula, a haven for a wealth of wildlife. Seal can be seen near the Isle of Whithorn (10 miles). Major sites along the peninsula include the Drumtroddan Standing Stones, the Bladnoch Distillery and Visitor Centre, Ravenstone Castle and Galloway House Gardens, Whithorn Priory, and St Ninian's Cave all within 14 miles.

A step leads down to the surrounding garden, with a path leading through a small tropical garden, and a private path to the beach. Private parking is available for two cars.
