This delightful detached cottage is set in a rural location yet only 3 miles from the quiet town of Moffat. The popular town of Moffat is famed for its woollen mills, toffee shop, flower displays in the town and the park with its boating lake. Situated near the gentle slopes, hills and lochs of Eskdale and Annandale which provide walks on the Southern Upland Way. Places of interest include The Devil’s Beef Tub and Grey Mare’s Tail waterfall, fishing, golf and many other amenities are close by. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

Another great stay at Barnhill Bothy, our 7th visit and we have already booked No 8, even the wet weather couldn’t dampen our enjoyment, lovely meals at the Black Bull, Old Stables, Balmoral Hotel, Star Hotel and Brodies and enjoyable walks up Gallows Hill and round St Mary’s loch.Elaine and her family are always so welcoming and the Bothy is always spotless and Murphy (the dog) loves the grounds

Had a great relaxing week at the cottage. 2 miles out of Moffat town, lots of walking nearby. Cottage was spotless and very well equipped. Would definitely stay there again

Great little place to stay, plenty of walks off the door for us and the dogs and all the amenities you need in Moffat. It’s a good base to explore from and Elaine the owner is very welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble 👍🏻😀
