A large mature garden surrounds the house and is beautifully maintained including large lawned area together with superb varieties of shrubs including Rhododendrons and Azaleas and other mature trees and flowerbeds.The house's traditional layout affords spacious accommodation including a large sitting room together with dining room with a snug seating area. The original features of the house have been maintained so that whilst it has been modernised to provide all necessary facilities it also retains a timeless elegance.
The bustling seaside village of Kippford is a mecca for water sports with yacht moorings on the river and a busy sailing club running frequent events and regattas.
The village centre is just a short walk from the house and has two pubs together with a tea room/craft shop. The area is a popular holiday destination with many historical sites to visit together with places to visit such as Loch Arthur Tea Rooms which is also an outlet for locally grown and produced produce and particularly excellent cheeses.
South West Scotland is renowned for its outstanding natural beauty which can be enjoyed from pleasant walks within the Galloway Forest Park or along the Solway Coast. Cycling and mountain biking is superbly catered for with quiet country roads and excellent mountain bike routes on the 7Stanes Forestry Commission Trails, the nearest of which is at Dalbeattie, while Mabie Forest is also just a short drive away. Golf courses abound be it recreational nine hole courses or testing Championship Link Courses such as the one at Southerness.

Wonderful home from home. Views amazing and the property was lovely. Full of interesting books, antiques and furniture along with every modern requirement for a restful stay. It was a perfect week completed by 3 deer wandering across the property on our last day ! We will be going back soon.
