Also nearby you have the Cream of Galloway ice cream factory and the Cocoa Bean chocolate factory - fun for the whole family both with indoor and outdoor activities. Further afield are Kirkcudbright; dubbed the 'Artists' Town', previously a fishing village, now with regular national art exhibitions, and Castle Douglas with its quaint independent boutique-style shops, not to mention the brewery and artisan bakery.
