NEW TO OUR portfolio FOR 2023

The Toon Hoose is a spacious holiday home on a quiet cul-de-sac, just minutes from the centre of Castle Douglas. Set out across 2 floors, with a living room, bedroom and bathroom on each, The Toon Hoose is the perfect location for a family holiday. The ground floor features a large kitchen and dining room, as well as a sitting room, an ideal location for children to watch TV or entertain themselves for a time. The ground floor also benefits from the master bedroom with ensuite, ideal for elderly guests of those with limited mobility. Upstairs guests are treated to a bright and modern second living room, with patio doors leading to a small balcony, complete with outdoor furniture. A further two bedrooms, one King-size and a twin with zip n link beds, give guests a choice of beds to suit their needs. The garden is a great space to entertain, featuring a hot tub and BBQ, stylish planting and views across the local countryside.

Castle Douglas is the region’s Food Town where holidaymakers will find a wide selection of independent butchers, bakers, delis, chocolatiers, café and a brewery. The town also benefits from a swimming pool and a producer’s market, held on the 3rd Sunday of each month, at Market Hill. Just on the outskirts of the town, is National Trust for Scotland’s Threave Estate with its House and Garden, and nearby Threave Castle, for those who enjoy horticultor and history.

The nearby town of Kirkcudbright is the region’s Artist Town, once home to Glasgow Boys George Henry and E.A Hornel, as well as Jessie M. King. Hornel’s home at Broughton House is now open to the public and offers guests a chance to see some of his work, as well as his beautiful, oriental inspired garden. The town is also home to the Dark Space Planetarium, a great place to learn more about space exploration.

Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park is also a great location to stargaze, with thousands of stars, planets, and the Milky Way, visible on a clear night. Guests can also book water sport excursions and horse trekking within the Forest Park, as well as walk and hike to their hearts content, and see a wide variety of wildlife including red deer, kites and squirrels, wild goats and osprey.
