Drumaird provides spacious family holiday accommodation in a superb location with wonderful uninterrupted views over Loch Ken to the hills beyond. Set on the edge of the village, the house offers complete privacy whilst being within walking distance of the village facilities including a small inn serving meals and a village shop. The thriving market town of Castle Douglas is a five minute drive away with plenty of choice for eating out with traditional inns and restaurants as well as a wide selection of local shops, a golf course and tennis courts.

Looking across Loch Ken the house offers excellent bird watching opportunities including osprey, red kite, swan and a variety of geese. Loch Ken is also a well known coarse fishery with free fishing on parts of it; boats are available for hire just a walk away at the nearby marina. You are welcome to bring your own kayaks/canoe which can be launched in the loch by the house. Water sports are available locally on Loch Ken with the Galloway Activity Centre, a ten minute drive a way, offering sailing, canoeing, rope climbing and lots more. There is also a huge variety of walking in the area, both from the door and a short distance away. Cyclists are well catered for with the 7Stanes Mountain Bike Network offering routes for all levels of ability including testing routes for those in search of the ultimate challenge. The nearby Galloway Forest and Solway Coast make excellent destinations for day visits to enjoy all the wildlife, scenery, peace and tranquility the area has to offer.

Damage Deposit for care of property

All holiday-makers booking a holiday are required to pay either a Refundable Damage Deposit, £150 or as noted in the property listing details, or Damage Deposit waiver of £18, whichever is selected is required to be paid with the balance payment of the holiday. Where selected the Damage Deposit will be held by the property manager to be applied against the reasonable costs of repairs, replacement or additional cleaning of furnishings, kitchen equipment, crockery, glass, bedding and towels damaged or soiled other than by normal wear and tear during the holiday. The Damage Deposit, less any reasonable charges, will be returned within 14 days of the departure date. Where any costs exceed the Damage Deposit the holiday-maker will pay such excess as notified to them by the property manager within 14 days of notification. Where the holiday-maker has agreed to pay the Damage Deposit Waiver the Damage Deposit is not payable. This amount is non-refundable. If the cost of any damage or breakages exceeds the applicable Damage Deposit value for the property, then the holiday-maker will be liable for any additional costs. Any such excess will be notified to them by the property manager and due for payment within 14 days of notification.
