Gatehouse of Fleet has an excellent range of hotels and pubs serving food plus 2 well stocked 7 day mini markets. Nearby are the superb sandy beaches of Sandgreen and Mossyard. On the outskirts of the town is a scenic and testing 9 hole golf course with adjacent tennis court and both loch and river fishing are available locally. The quiet roads and tracks surrounding the cottage are ideal for walking and cycling and the Cally oak Woods adjoining are a haven for wildlife; you will be delighted by the common sight of red squirrels in the garden, the rich chorus of birdsong, glimpses of deer, the carpets of snowdrops and bluebells in the Spring and the sight of the Milky Way overhead on clear nights. The nearby Galloway Forest Park was recently given the status of a Dark Skies Park.

Accommodation for 2 on two floors: Ground Floor: Hall; Living/Dining room with multi fuel stove; Kitchen; Toilet with WC and wash basin. First Floor: Double Bedroom with ensuite Bathroom with bath (mixer tap handshower), WC and wash basin.

Damage Deposit for care of property

All holiday-makers booking a holiday are required to pay either a Refundable Damage Deposit, £150 or as noted in the property listing details, or Damage Deposit waiver of £18, whichever is selected is required to be paid with the balance payment of the holiday. Where selected the Damage Deposit will be held by the property manager to be applied against the reasonable costs of repairs, replacement or additional cleaning of furnishings, kitchen equipment, crockery, glass, bedding and towels damaged or soiled other than by normal wear and tear during the holiday. The Damage Deposit, less any reasonable charges, will be returned within 14 days of the departure date. Where any costs exceed the Damage Deposit the holiday-maker will pay such excess as notified to them by the property manager within 14 days of notification. Where the holiday-maker has agreed to pay the Damage Deposit Waiver the Damage Deposit is not payable. This amount is non-refundable. If the cost of any damage or breakages exceeds the applicable Damage Deposit value for the property, then the holiday-maker will be liable for any additional costs. Any such excess will be notified to them by the property manager and due for payment within 14 days of notification.
