Really enjoyed our 4 night stay in Juniper lodge. The views were amazing and the hot tub was an amazing addition. The views of the horses were also lovely. Perfect for couples. Bed was big and although some people said it was uncomfortable we didn’t find that this was the case. Possibly is personal preference. There is a smart tv to watch some movies in the evening. Lots of walks to do in the area. The hot blast trail was really good. Beautiful views and took us roughly 3 hours to complete. Only issue was it is very hilly and if you have low levels of fitness please take that into consideration! We also did it in October so the weather was very wet so definitely wear boots or wellies. A couple of shorter walks too on the ridge trail and the faerie trail. Robes were a nice addition for getting in and out of the hot tub. Tea and coffee was also provided and a few sachets of milk. Short drive away from Kircudbright and Castle Douglas.I did feel like there were a few things that could be added to make the stay better. No microwave. Could do with some hooks for your coats/jackets as there is nowhere to put your wet coats after your walks. There’s also no hairdryer or iron. We only had 1 toilet roll too. Would have been nice for an extra one just in case. Needs some further instructions on how to use the hob as it isn’t very straightforward.Overall we had a comfortable and relaxing stay and would definitely return. Great value for money when booking via hoseasons.
