The property is nicely placed to be able to walk into the centre of Gatehouse, and enough of a walk to feel that you have earned a pint when you get there! Craiglure is generally well appointed and the starter pack for the fire is easily enough for two cosy fireside evenings (with the option to purchase more wood and coal if wanted). Just a couple of things; the property is a little tired and could do with a refresh decor-wise, and with some attention to the floor; some lifted up lino near the fridge nearly caused a couple of trips. Secondly we were disappointed to see the notice saying that the Council don't do recycling and everything should go in the rubbish bin. We were therefore surprised to note that all the properties on the walk into town appeared to have three different recycling bins. However, those couple of points notwithstanding, Craiglure was a joy and we hope to return again.

One of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. Smart, comfortable, clean and spacious with all the amenities required, large garden with stunning views. Such a lovely setting with tranquility and birds we've never seen before in or above the garden. Yet only about 5 mins drive (walkable too) into Gatehouse of Fleet which has some nice shops and restaurants. Highly recommended.

The house has amazing views and was very comfortable, clean and well equipped and we were even visited on the balcony by a red squirrel. Surrounding area very scenic with an abundance of walks and wildlife. We look forward to returning in the near future.
