Kick off your day with a walk along Mossyard Beach (300m), before you head off to Cardoness Castle (3 miles) to climb its well-preserved 15th-century tower – the panoramic views from the top are superb. Later in the day, treat yourself to a sauna in (300 metres), or set off for Galloway Forest Park (10 miles) to hit the trails on your bike. Stay into the evening to make the most of the stargazing opportunities at this designated Dark Sky Park. Or spend a great day discovering the 18th-century mill and 15th-century castle in Gatehouse of Fleet (5 miles).

Take three steps up to your caravan and step inside. You’ll be greeted by a welcoming open-plan living/kitchen/dining area that’s bathed in natural light streaming in from the wide glass doors and windows. Slip into a plush sofa to admire the cosy, rustic-style decor and vast countryside views.
