For a traditional seaside experience, visit Red Haven Beach (2 miles), a sheltered stretch of rocky shoreline ideal for picnics with a view. Keen walkers can also explore Screel Hill (2 miles), a modest yet rewarding climb with stunning vistas from the summit, before heading into Dalbeattie (7.5 miles) for a selection of pubs, shops and restaurants.
