There is plenty to do in the area though if you want to explore.  Just over the river you can try riding lessons and carriage driving at the Chariots of Fire Driving Centre, all abilities are welcome.  There are some lovely walks right from the doorstep as well as others a short drive away, including the Annandale Way.  Dumfries and Galloway has every type of scenery for your perfect walk, from heathery uplands, peaceful forests and rollin. . .
