    About this property

Tucked away on the outskirts of Clackmannan in Scotland, is this truly unique pod, Ben Cleuch Anthropod. Set within expansive farmland and enjoying breath-taking views of the Ochil Hills, Ben Cleuch Anthropod is the first of its kind in Scotland and is a wonderful base for a couple, friends or family seeking a romantic getaway with a difference. Be welcomed into the studio-style layout, where you can look forward to whipping up tasty meals for your loved ones in the kitchen, which features a two-ring hob, fridge, and microwave, ready to enjoy at the dining table over a celebratory bottle of fizz. On warmer days, why not dine alfresco out on your very own private decking? There is also an inviting hot tub for relaxing dips after a day of adventure; the outdoor area is also sheltered so you can enjoy this space come rain or shine! As the evening grows darker, retire inside where you can snuggle up on the sofa and watch a film on the TV. Wash away the day with a refreshing shower before wrapping yourself in the warm embrace of a toasty towel, courtesy of the heated towel rail. When sleep calls, the dining area converts into a king-size sofa bed, and the sitting area into a bunk bed, where you can catch your rest ahead of more exploring. Head into the town centre, where you will find a well-stocked convenience store and three takeaways, perfect for when you fancy ordering in. Be sure to wander up to the historic 14th-century Clackmannan Tower which sits atop King’s Seat Hill, offering exceptional views over the town. The keen twitchers in your party can enjoy the delights of the wildlife rich RSPB Black Devon Wetlands which rest along the River Forth. For a wider selection of amenities, head over to Alloa where you can soak up the sweeping views from the 14th-century castle of Alloa Tower, picnic in West End Park, sample unique ales at the Williams Bros Brewing Co, and dine at Bar Aldo's Restaurant, Scotland's finest, family-run Italian restaurant! Those looking to test out their swing can do so at the nearby golf clubs of Tulliallan, Braehead or a 40-minute drive to Gleneagles Golf Club. For more of Scotland's historic sites, the medieval Castle Campbell is within easy reach in the small town of Dollar, to get up close to a majestic, Lowland stronghold. Take a day trip to the medieval village of Culross, once a thriving 17th-century port which has been used extensively in period films, such as the Outlander series; explore the curious rooms of Culross Palace with an organic palace garden selling local produce! Just south of Ben Cleuch Anthropod, pair a rural walk with a visit to Kennetpans Distillery, the birthplace of the modern whiskey distilling industry, while to the north lies Alva Glen surrounded by woodland, once the UK's largest deposit of silver. For a taste of city life, driver over to Stirling, where you can tour the remarkable 12th-century Stirling Castle with great hall, explore the Stirling Old Town Jail and The Stirling Smooth Art Gallery & Museum, or make a stop at the former Airthrey Castle, now a university. Other attractions within the city include an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, the excellent Stirling Golf Club, and The Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre in nearby Whins of Milton. Combine your day out with a trip to Doune Castle, a grand medieval castle featured in many films such as Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Game of Thrones, and Outlander. Continue onto Falkirk where you can visit the Kelpies and Falkirk Wheel, take a scenic drive to the Fife coast where you will find St Andrews or explore the popular destinations of Edinburgh and Glasgow. All this and more awaits with a stay at Ben Cleuch Anthropod.

The seaside town of Clacton-on-Sea is a great family holiday destination. There are sandy beaches, great for bathing and watersports, a Victorian pier, cliff-top gardens, a fun fair, bowling greens, theatres, a golf course and shopping and leisure facilities. The town also offers a range of pubs and restaurants. Within easy reach is the town of Colchester, Britain's oldest recorded town, with its rich Roman history and numerous visitor attractions, including Colchester Zoo.
