About Stroneskar

A warm welcome awaits you on our 1200 acre farm. Set next to a stunning Loch, ideal for fishing and gentle walks around the waters side. Stroneskar provides a wonderful holiday home for all with either the option to unwind and look at the views with a good book and a drink or to go adventuring around the farms extensive land and explore the local villages. Guests can stay in our self catering cottage or in the 6 berth Tudor caravan both boasting stunning views of the Scottish countryside.

Inside

Tigh-a-Charnain's accommodation comprises: Large living room with log fire or electric and Sky TV, 2 double and 1 twin bedroom. Attractively furnished, bathroom and dining/kitchen with electric heaters throughout.

Our 6 berth Tudor caravan is also available.

Outside

There is plenty to do on the farm - walking, pike fishing, birds, wildlife and archaeological sites, also a good touring base

Other things to note

Pets welcome by arrangement. Linen hire on request. Good supply of books and games for wet days. 

Around and About

Stroneskar is 1.5 miles from Ford village, which has a village hall and church. It lies at the south end of Loch Awe, renowned for fishing and the start of forest trails and walks. Kilmartin is 3 miles and has a good shop, post office, museum with cafe, hotel, restaurant, church and garage. Lochgilphead - 12 miles. Oban - 30 miles.

Directions to Stroneskar Farm Cottage & Caravan

From Lochgilphead take A816 north. 2 miles beyond Kilmartin fork right along B840 Ford road. Take the next turning to the right onto the unclassified Kilmichael Glen road. The bungalow is 100 yard in on the left. Stroneskar farmhouse is 1 mile further in.
