About this property

Set in Dalmally, Scotland, within lovely grounds on the South shore of Loch Awe, is the splendid Victorian dwelling of Sonachan House. A place of spectacular beauty, peace and tranquillity, it's ideal for those looking for a secluded countryside break. Fernoch is a two-bedroom, second floor apartment within Sonachan House, with access to the grounds, loch and private fishing rights. The accommodation is accessed up two flights of stairs to the top floor apartment. Through the front door, a long hallway leads to all rooms. There is a well-equipped modern kitchen with white units and wooden worktops, as well as a range of appliances to cook up a storm for the family. There is a small table and chairs in the kitchen to enjoy breakfast and plan the day’s events. At the end of the hallway is a spacious open-plan living area with comfortable sofas, where you can settle down and relax in front of the cosy electric fire as well as a sofa bed for extra flexibility. There is also a larger dining table here to enjoy a meal as a family. Down the hall are two bedrooms: one double and one twin, with a modern family shower room for you to get ready for the day in style. Outside you can enjoy the well-kept shared gardens. Stroll through the grounds down to the lochside, where you can swim, kayak, fish or simply soak up the sunshine and maybe enjoy a picnic. The views over the loch to the mountains beyond are breath-taking and will make you not want to leave. Take a day trip to Inveraray on the shore of Loch Fyne, with its famous 19th century jail, a spectacular castle and wonderful seafood. Surrounded by some of Scotland’s most stunning mountain scenery, there are some excellent walking and cycling routes to explore. Take a boat out on the loch, enjoy an afternoon fishing. There is an abundance of wildlife to be seen here, including red squirrels, pine martens, kites, osprey, sea eagles, golden eagles and if you’re really lucky you may spot an otter. Fernoch is the perfect spot for friends or family to enjoy the surrounding area or tour the Western Highlands.

Dalmally is a village located in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. Steeped in history, Kilchum Castle is a popular destination, as it dates back to the 15th century and is open to the public during the summer months. Famous poet Duncan Ben MacIntyre was born in Dalmally, there is a monument dedicated to him up the forested hills. With so many spectacular views to behold, you won't want to leave!
