The property is generally praised for its cleanliness, with guests finding it clean and comfortable. However, a few guests mentioned the presence of cobwebs, suggesting room for improvement in deep cleaning.

The location is highly regarded for its beautiful scenery, peacefulness, and convenience to Campbeltown and local amenities. It's also appreciated for being remote enough to offer tranquillity.

The house is described as spacious and cosy, with plenty of bathrooms and a large kitchen. Some guests mentioned the need for better beds and heating arrangements, indicating that comfort could be enhanced.

Facilities are generally good, with a modern kitchen and sufficient bathrooms. However, guests suggested improvements such as better kitchen utensils, a dishwasher, and maintenance issues like a non-locking front door and the need for a hair dryer.

While guests have not mentioned specific gifts, they have noted the helpfulness of the hosts and the provision of logs for the wood burner. As no gifts are referenced, it is not possible to score thoughtfulness based on this criterion.

About this property

Campbeltown 5 miles.

A traditional, stone-built farmhouse, on the owner's 250-acre beef farm, in a beautiful, secluded location, 5 miles from Campbeltown, on the Kintyre Peninsula. Offering panoramic countryside views, and charming, character accommodation, this Campbeltown holiday cottage makes a perfect rural getaway, and an ideal base for discovering all the Kintyre Peninsula has to offer. Enjoy a round of golf at Machrihanish Golf Club's links course, try rough shooting or fishing with the owner, and with beautiful scenery to enjoy, a walk amongst the hills is a must, before returning to this delightful, cosy Campbeltown cottage for a drink in the garden, or to curl up in front of the open fire. With plenty of activities on offer, plus the chance to spot a dolphin or seal basking in the local waters, this Campbeltown cottage is an ideal base for exploring this lovely part of Scotland.

Set in a deep bay and sheltered by Davaar Island is Campbeltown, the Kintyre Peninsula's main settlement. Once boasting a vast fishing fleet and (apparently) 34 whisky distilleries, the town now produces two popular single malts - Glen Scotia and Springbank. The Campbeltown Heritage Centre, housed in an old church, is definitely worth visiting, as is the Tartan Kirk - a striking construction that provides an interesting insight into its past life. The 'Wee Picture House', the country's oldest working cinema, is an art-deco fan's dream, whilst just a few miles to the south is The Mull of Kintyre – formerly the Mull of Cantyre – made famous by the Wings song.

En suites chilly in cold weather. Kitchen would benefit from more lighting and an extractor, maybe a dishwasher for soft spoilt Sassenachs; the square plates / dishes are a tad heavy and idiosyncratic? (Freezer needs a defrost?). Welcome logs and kindling for safe closed and effective fire. Lots of games and care for guests' needs. WiFi and TV all good. Love the tartan carpeting!

There were 4 adults and 2 kids (12 & 14). House big enough with everyone having their own space to relax in. Campbelltown is only 10 mins drive with a decent size Tesco and coop and a couple of takeaways. Beautiful beaches all close by aswell. Bean coffee machine in the kitchen was a great touch. Key was in the door when we got there and we didn't need to contact owners as we had no issues, a guide to the house and area was in the house. The only thing missing for me was a dishwasher, that would have been the icing. We would definitely stay again and had looked at next year for the same week but it was booked up.
