We were looking forward to our trip after several reschedules due to covid, and our friends who had been before had absolutely loved it and had spoken so highly of the lodge they stayed in previously. Unfortunately, our disappointment with our holiday lies mainly with the state of the lodge. Eagle Spa Plus (No 7) , it was not well cleaned upon entering, as evidenced by the fact that the previous occupants had obviously had a party and we kept finding bits of popped balloons. The bedrooms are lovely and spacious and the beds comfy. Towels were provided. In one bedroom it seemed that the floor boards have rotten or something as there was a massive hole underneath the carpet you had to be careful of. The dining chairs were a disgrace, peeling dingy, on some, the seat base even came off. They needed binning... there are two large heavy oak dining room tables, one was very wobbly and possibly dangerous and seemed only the fact the other table was sturdy was keeping it from being so. The tap in the kitchen was dirty grubby didn't work properly and needs changed. They've obviously painted the walls recently and spilled lots down the beautiful wooden stair case not bothered to clean well. The radiators were rotten, rusty and dirty and completely at odds with the rest of the en-suite bathrooms which were in fairness immaculate. Why do the rest and not sort the radiators?? The frustration being that all of the above were such easy things to resolve and should be regularly reviewed. The hot tub only one set of the jets were working. Surrounding the lodge, random drain pipes sticking up out of the stone driveways a good 5-10inches, which could easily be sorted by topping up the stones on the driveways themselves. We had one meal in the restaurant which was ok, but nothing to rave about. Swimming pool lovely, you can only book 1 45min session a day, would have been good to be able to book a longer slot, as timing wasn't enough really but understand that they have reduced numbers due to covid so reduce time slots to allow all in. Maybe, they could allow spare slots to be advertised somehow? The GO Active programme, we did archery and Segway as there was little else of use for 10+ but we enjoyed what we did and the instructor was lovely. Our friends daughter used the soft play which looked great, café prices reasonable inside the soft play. We love the area, and would definitely visit Dundee again, if you do go please visit Camperdown Wildlife Centre, you wont be sorry! we spent ages watching brown bears play in the water and lots of other interesting and unique animals. The park itself is massive and worth a visit.

Location of site good. Within easy distance of places to visit. Accommodation very good. On site facilities could be improved We were looking for somewhere family could stay whilst visiting other family members so perfect for that.
