The lounge is at the front of the property, where you can watch the world go by from the window seat or settle into the comfy sofas watching your favourite movie. Perfect place for a winter break too, with full central heating and an additional electric fire, the Munro lounge is great for cosying up in front of the fire on those chilly nights. Arbroath’s most famous delicacy is the ‘Arbroath Smokie’, which is line-caught haddock, smoke-cured over oak chips and made in local smokehouses, and found in the ‘Fit o’the Toon’ which is the harbour district where the smell of the Arbroath Smokies takes over. Alternatively, venture further afield to the city of Dundee where you will be spoilt for choice by the amenities that await you – the recently opened V&A museum, McManus Museum, Foxlake watersports at the quay are all waiting to be discovered. The village of Glamis boasts HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mothers childhood home, Glamis Castle as well as The Gin Bothy and Strathmore Vintage Transport Museum. A little further up north will take you to Montrose Basin Wildlife trust, which is the enclosed estuary of the South Esk River, and is home to over 80,000 migratory birds every year, and to get a better look you can use the telescopes and binoculars that are set up in the visitor centre! In the property there are travel guides and map available for the Angus area however if you are looking for something specific please feel free to ask the owner prior to arrival as they can assist in providing a tailored itinerary to accommodate most interests and groups. Munro is a lovely choice of property for taking delight in the glorious country that is Scotland. Note: This property can be booked with Glennie Ref. 1009826, together sleeping up to 11 people.

Arbroath is a historic town, with an ancient fishing port that was one of the largest in Scotland by the 20th century. It is known for its long sandy beaches, as well as the traditional smokehouses where haddock is salted overnight, dried, and then smoked over a hardwood fire. There are lots of opportunities for walking and cycling along the coast, as well as golf courses.
